The Lyrics

Kites in flight crashin', never reaching the clouds
Send teeth a gnashin', ever screaming aloud
Lucy has always said, fly those kites no more
Come kick this pigskin, you can then watch it soar

Don't believe her, yes just leave her, oh ow, deceiver!

Hazing from people, fill his head round
Just when he's feeling blue, warm hugs from his hound
Some try to tell him, that he's just a blockhead
But what he wants to be, is the redheads boyfriend
Oh, he loves her, yes he loves her
Oh how he loves her, just how he loves her

Kites in flight crashin', getting eaten by trees
Pen pals he's written, the ink smearing like grease
Schooling has always been, in his eyes a chore
Voice of the teacher, sounds like a mute horn

Is it wah wah?, yes it's wah wah
Oh, lots of blah blah, oh, stop the wah wah
Wah wah wah wah, wah wah wah wah
Wah ah wah wah wah, wah wah wah wah

(Epilogue, spoken)

Leaves deep,
The lawn newly groomed.
Watch legs wait,
Then start to zoom.
Wetsucker people
Jump in and lament.
Foliage on damp candy,
Like rubber cement.

Flying ace beagles,
Hassle barons.
Keenly pan skies above,
One last run.
New brother on bike,
An endless re-run.
Junior citizens
Forever young.

Pale hairless orb,
That rues its life.
Behooves the sullen,
Frowns are rife.
Dread, dismay and
Yell "oh plight".
Ennui, he sighed,
Riches slight.
Quite rich is our conclusion.

Thanks McKludge and alvin. Sparky may be gone but thankfully the newspapers repeat his strips.

A lovely and sophisticated tribute...perhaps too sophisticated, I lost you on the "Leaves deep" stanza...but LOL on the wah-wah!

Ag. I caught the leaves deep although it was a bit deep. That's CB's kite in that kite eating tree. "Cold hearted oak that ate my kite" Ren - What happened to the Great Pumpkin and the red headed girl? I'm sure they'd high 5 this one. Well done.

Thanks Agrimorfee, PMS, and Guy. Guy- "Bold lighted gourd that's so revered, approve my pumpkins grown most sincere". As for the red headed girl, she's so elusive it's hard to fit her in.
