The Lyrics

Before my parody of "Ride My See-Saw", I have included a parody of "Departure", a spoken poem that leads-in to "Ride My See-Saw".
(spoken, with a slowly-intensifying siren wailing higher and higher in the background: )

Be it
Flight,
Song,
Well,
There's just something,
'bout this bird I love so much -

The sight of its flight,
Or the sound of its song,
Or the strength of its voice,
When it sings loud and strong...

(a bit louder, a little higher-pitch: )

The wonder of feathers,
To be fluttered,
And then to burst up,
Full wingspread,
Toward the sun again...

(getting louder, even higher-pitch: )

It flies through the house
Without hurting a wing -

(even louder, gritting teeth, still higher-pitch: )

It sits on my shoulder,
It's always talk-ing -

(starting to freak-out: )

Incessant squawking -
Can't take anymore -

(almost screaming: )

It's so NOISY -
Can't STAND IT -

(screaming maniacally: )

I'm
out
of
my
GOURD -
AH - HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAAAAAAAAA !!!!!!!

( hard-rock electric guitar instrumental )

Buy
Buy my macaw
Take this bird
Off my hands
Someone, please

Buy
It's a good buy
Take my word
It's so cheap
Almost free

I've lived with this bird for years
Squawks so loud that it hurts my ears
Now I've had all that I can stand
So right now, please take it off my hands

Run
Run from this bird
There're no words
For how loud this bird cries

Run
Faster than light
Get far away
From this bird's
Squawking blight

Left cage door open with hope
But this bird is nobody's dope
Stayed in where it's warm and fed
I love birds - so I can't kill it dead

Squawk, squawk, squawk, squawk
Squawk, squawk, squawk, squawk
Squawk, squawk, squawk, squawk, squawk ...

Squawk, squawk, squawk, squawk
Squawk, squawk, squawk, squawk
Squawk, squawk, squawk, squawk
SQUAAAAAAAWWWWWK

( hard-rock electric guitar instrumental )

That bird is squawkin' around
My ear-drum's accosted by sound
People run, come buy from me
Find it, another home quick, please

Buy
Buy my macaw
Take this bird
Off my hands
Someone, please

Buy
It's a good buy
Take my word
It's so cheap
Almost free

Buy
My macaw
Buy
My macaw
Buy
Buy
Buy
My macaw
Buy
My macaw
Buy
My macaw

This is obviously NOT the bird in "Voices in the Sky." Thanks for making me laugh at the end of a very long work day! And the intro really adds to the effect.

She's the Moody one. She also like the group that did this song. Oh, I'm in trouble now. 555

The intro helped me remember the song; smooth read, well done. Didn't know there were so many Moody Blues songs I didn't know. Okay, I think I'm gonna go now.

Thank you Merry, Mari, Rick and Claude. Happy Thanksgiving, everybody - I'm going to be taking a little break from posting parodies during Thanksgiving "week-end", but I will keep reading, voting, and commenting on all of yours. Peace.
