The Lyrics

About Gossip Girl. I am not a fan of that show, but I love the actors.
Plights in Manhattan,
All the top notch trends,
Serena and Blair chattin,
About a friend's 1 night stand

Can't count the guys they've kissed
On episodes before,
But I don't watch it much
Cuz I'll think I'm a whore

I don't get you,
Yeah I don't get you,
I just don't get you.

Spoiled rich people,
Most hand in hand,
So unrealistic
No one understands

They act so meanly,
Blatantly showing scorn
Can't believe teens watch it
It's like watching porn

I don't get you,
I don't get you,
I just don't get you
I just don't get you

Plights in Manhattan,
All the top notch trends,
Serena and Blair chattin,
About a friend's 1 night stand

Can't count the guys they've kissed
On episodes before,
But I don't watch it much
Cuz I'll think I'm a whore

I don't get you,
Yeah I don't get you,
I just don't get you.

I don't get you,
Yeah I don't get you,
I just don't get you.

Nicely done once again, carly. The only time I don't give you 5's is when I don't know the original...and I am pretty old. ;D

Good job on on of my favorite songs...wish you had used the monologue with it...and the gong! Ribber...I'm surprised you don't know it!

The title switch was so good that II finally decided to read one of your songs, though DKTOS of most of yours (and though you've not chosen to read any of mine).

Need to pay more attention to pacing, i. e. matching the length and stresses (accents) of the parody to TOS. E. g.:

Nights in white satin
Plights in Manhattan, (good)

Never reaching the end ... 6 syllables
All the top notch trends, ....5 -- one short

Letters I've written ... 5 syl
Serena and Blair chattin, 7 -- two over.

Never meaning to send. .... 6 syl
About a friend's 1 night stand ... 7, but it's very close, *and fixable":
'Bout a friend's one-night stand = scans perfectly to OS line in both meter and accent/stress.

Won't go through the rest, but you get the idea. You're quite prolific; now work less on quantity and more on quality. The ideas are there, judging by this one. 3-4-3.

If you'd like an easy, simple method to nail the pacing every time, it's (cough) here:

...and a belated welcome to AIR!

What you've got is very good, but Adagio is right: In order to get a 5 on this OS, you need to parody the closing monologue as well. As great as the OS is, it's so overblown that it demands parody. (See also "MacArthur Park.")

Damn, I did not even know there was a monologue at the end.
