I wrote this with our good friends and writing compadres, Rick & Mari Duncan, in mind.
Two can play this tune.
I think they wrote it in "C" - but I'll start in "A".
It doesn't matter to me - changing the song that way.
Someone accom-panies.
The sound is soaring. I hear - perhaps a flute of wood.
The crowd is pouring their beer - we're startin' to sound good . . .
I'm listening to myself a-strummin' Moody Blues.
My wife joins in on flute - best duos come in twos.
So keep on playing, while I parody this song.
May have to play it twice, 'cause it's not very long.

You continue to amaze and delight us, Dave. You kept this generic, so I can't complain about it being too "in-crowd". As you know, we do play this song in our act. I think I'm going to copy this and keep it in the guitar case. It's a great commercial for our act. If we sing it,we'll let you know what people thought.

I'm so glad Rick & Mari have joined us here, at the site! They are a fun couple! I especially enjoy their recordings!
I agree, Diva. They are even more fun in person. Rick loves bringing out the unexpected from a group of people. I remember one party we were at, where a couple members of the punk band "Fear" were in attendance. Somehow, Rick got them joining him in a rendition of "You've Got To Hide Your Love Away".
