Parody Song Title:

"Dean, Dean"

Parody Written by:

The Lyrics

Please check out Stray Pooch's parody version of this song which he did
last June. Oh, and happy Thank Your Mentor Day. I would like to take
this opportunity to thank the editors and writers of Mad Magazine,
without whose crazy parodies I never would have had the guts to
write something this silly.
Dean, Dean, it's Dean they say's
Got a dark side, just like Bill
Mean Dean, he's pullin' away
Though Democrats think Dean is shrill

Well, he told Vermonters he would fix healthcare
And insured every girl and boy
And now he's takin' his message to the primaries, yeah
He's makin' Lieberman shout "Oy! Oy!"

Dean, Dean, it's Dean they say's
Got a dark side, just like Bill
Mean Dean's controllin' the race
Though Democrats think Dean is shrill

Well he opposed this war before it was PC
He said the Bushies made an awful mistake
And if twenty more helicopters get shot down
Well that might be his biggest break

Dean, Dean, it's Dean they say's
Got a dark side, just like Bill
Mean Dean, he's pullin' away
Though Democrats think Dean is shrill

Well he raised his money on the World Wide Web
About 40 million dollars or more
He's got the true believers and the volunteers
They come a-knockin' at-a my front door

(and I say...)

Dean, Dean, it's Dean they say's
Got a dark side, just like Bill
Mean Dean's controllin' the race
Though Democrats think Dean is shrill

Well at that last debate he got an assfull of Al
Yeah, that Sharpie really caught him off guard
I was shocked, astonished, and I yelled out loud
"Yo, Rev', put away that damn race card!!!"

Dean, Dean, it's Dean they say's
Got a dark side, just like Bill
Mean Dean, he's pullin' away
Though Democrats think Dean is shrill

Well Howard's prone to gaffes just like George W. Bush
He doesn't waffle or prevaricate
Yeah, he's a straight-talkin', Bush-whackin' son of a gun
I can't wait to see those guys debate!

Dean, Dean, it's Dean they say's
Got a dark side, just like Bill
Mean Dean's controllin' the race
Though Democrats think Dean is shrill
Though Democrats think Dean is shrill
Though Democrats think Dean is shrill
Though Democrats think Dean is shrill.......

Here's a debate I'd like to see: Mr. Dean vs. Mr. Bean.
Funny stuff here Bob ! 5's

5-5-5! Very nicely done. I can hear those folk singers doin' this song in my head. Good job.

It's nice to see something different among all of the Bush parodies (not that some of them aren't great).

I had almost thought the One Guy was gone for good, but I see he simply got political... Good job, Bob! I'll give you the 5's that I wouldn't give Dean. ;-)

Well thank you for the plug! I was parodying Dean when Dean wasn't cool - lol!! Great Job on this one. I especially like "got a dark side just like Bill." It is such a clever use of the original line. 555!

Thanks, everybody, and especially you, Stray. This is what makes this site so cool: two people with opposing political views can use the same song to have a kind of civilized debate on the relative merits of a candidate, while maintaining their respect for each other. Am I right? And One's Guy: thanks for the one's, because they let me know I really got to you with this one. Just doin' my job, bro'. d;:^)

I'd just like to point out I was for John Kerry from about two days after Al Gore dropped out, and never once jumped on the Howiewagon: "Kerry Beat That Wayward Son!"

Very good parody, Bob. I like what you did with the chorus and what you did with the verses. I also agree that it would have been fun to listen to a Dean-Bush debate.
