The Lyrics

Lately there have been posts in the messageboards that say it's OK to do a parody of a song with few or no words. Here's my take on "Wipe Out" using the lead guitars notes as syllables to match. I used a simple 2+2+2 type rhyme scheme as you see. I threw in a little history into the last (fading) verse.
Clccch!
He he ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ah!!!!
White-Out!!

It's taking longer than planned
You get a cramp in your hand
You make a boo-boo with your pen
Will the frustration never end?
You can't believe you made a mess
Now you're a klutz you must confess
You spent a week preparing it
And you're so mad that you could spit
Now please before you make a fuss
Just grab the bottle from your desk
You take the cap off with the brush
Yeah, you unscrew the lid
And it comes out
White
Out
White
Out
White
Out

I get so bored with taking class
I wonder if this year I'll pass
I wish the teacher wouldn't say,
"I want a thirty page essay"
Do they know how long that it takes?
Because they hate to see mistakes
Yes all the teachers want it clean
You make a mess you see the Dean
Now without this stuff I'd flunk school
I say, "White-Out users rule!"
You know that you are lookin' cool
When you unscrew the lid
And it comes out
White
Out
White
Out
White
Out

You take the whole thing
Oh yes the bottle thing
And shake it up
Shake it all up inside
Oh yeah you do
Shaking the whole thing
Shake up the whole thing
And then take the brush thing
Oh yes you take it
And you dab and you brush it
All over your paper
That's the way to do it
Spreading on White-Out
Out
White
Out
White
Out
White
Out

I've got a great antidote
For every mistake that you wrote
None of your homework will be late
Due to those forces we call fate
No oversight will make you waiver
When supplied with liquid paper
You can paint each blunder you did
If you've got correction fluid
So with your goof ups never fret
You use this you're fine I'll bet
But just don't touch it while it's wet
Just blow on it a bit

Made by Bette Nesmith Graham
It fixes typos when you cram
In '58 she changed it's name
Although the mix remained the same
Before she died, sold to Gilette
Newell Rubbermaid had to get
(fade)

Totally original...I know some writers have taken on classical tunes, but this is the first surf instrumental I've seen tackled. Great job! 555

Very clever concept, Tim. And, Tim, you're a young guy, so I'm sure you learned about your topic through research and you're not really old enough to remember the days before word processing software when White Out was really needed.

Interesting reply Newfoghill. I have always had the feeling that there are voters who don't vote based upon their own assessment of a parody. This confirms it. Some folks take it upon themselves to adjust the other votes to bring them in line with their view. i.e. voting 1's because they think it should get 4's and it has been voted 5's by everyone else, therefore the result is a 4.5 or so. That's all the power they have and they abuse it as often as they see fit. If the points really mattered, I suppose I should be furious...
