The Lyrics

How about I ring out 2016 with one last token of appreciation for The Tokens who I, umm .. appreciate. This concerns the famous Monty Python Spam skit which includes a group of Vikings singing a Norse ode to Spam
We-e-e-e-e-E-E-E-E have sung of Spam today
We-e-e-e-e-E-E-E-E have sung of Spam today

a-singofspam, a-singofspam, a-singofspam, a-singofspam
a-singofspam, a-singofspam, a-singofspam, a-singofspam
asongofspam, asongofspam, asongofspam, asongofspam
asongofspam, asongofspam, asongofspam, asongofspam

In the lunchroom, the Python lunchroom
The Vikings sing tonight
Of the lunchmeat, non-diet lunchmeat
The Vikings sing tonight

We-e-e-e-e-e-E-E-e-e-e-e-e sing odes to Spam today
(alovelyspam, alovelyspam, alovelyspam. alovelyspam)
(alovelyspam, alovelyspam, alovelyspam, alovelyspam)
We-e-e-e-e-e-E-E-e-e-e-e sing odes to Spam today
(alovelyspam, alovelyspam, alovelyspam, alovelyspam)
(alovelyspam, alovelyspam, alovelyspam, alovelyspam)

In the village, the Cleese-ful village
The Vikings sing tonight
Of pork swillage and taste bud thrill-age
The Vikings sing tonight

We-e-e-e-e-e-E-E-e-e-e-e-e shall sing of Spam today
(alovelyspam, alovelyspam, alovelyspam, alovelyspam
(ohlovelyspam, ohlovelyspam, ohlovelyspam, ohlovelyspam)
Br-r-r-r-ing a plate and sing of Spam today
(asingofspam, asingofspam, asingofspam, asingofspam)
(alovelyspam, etcetera, etcetra, etcetera*)

Hush my Chapman, don't shriek my Chapman
The Vikings sing tonight
Hush my waitress, don't repeat my waitress
Or Vikings sing tonight

Whoa-ah ode, whoa-ah ode, whoa whoa, we're spamming today
(asingofspam, asingofspam, asingofspam, asingofspam)
(asingofspam, asingofspam, asingofspam, asingofspam
Cause we-e-e-e-e-E-E-e-e-e-e-e-e did sing of Spam today
(alovelyspam, alovelyspam, alovelyspam, alovelyspam)
(alovelyspam, alovelyspam, alovelyspam, alovelyspam)

We-e-e-e-E-E-E-E have sung of Spam today
We-e-e-e-E-E-E-E have sung of Spam today

"But I don't like Spam!" 555 repeats: Spam, spam, spam, spam...

BTW, this is my 200th parody submission to the Amiright.com website. No doubt you will protest, "But Lennie, it says in the Author Section that you have a mere .194 Malcolms." Yes, but there are also FIVE free floating submissions with my name intentionally mispelled. And no doubt, like the math whizzes that you all are, you will say, "But CML, that only adds up to 199 submissions." .... Perhaps my inquisitors should ponder the use of the unnecessarily elaborate descriptor -- "Amiright.com website" Perhaps there's a submission in one of the, harrumph, "Miscellaneous Sections". of the aforereferenced website, IF ya know what I mean .. (And even if you don't)

If it was the Minnesota Vikings, they'd be singing "I'm a Loser," "Slip Slidin' Away," "Didn't We Almost Have It All," etc.

This parody is as good as Lobster Thermidor au Crevette with a Mornay sauce served in a Provencale manner with shallots and aubergines garnished with truffle pate, brandy and with a fried egg on top and spam.
CML - January 02, 2017 - Report this comment
Wow, I cant imagine anything that would provide a bigger contrast to Spam than what you just wrote there, Rex. Maybe you should do your own Spam skit ;-D
