Original Performer:

The Who

Parody Song Title:

"I Hurt My Brain"

Parody Written by:

Mark Scotti

The Lyrics

The horrors of a VERY bad night of drinking...
Went out drinking and cried (Hurt my brain)
Woke up with new bride (What's her name?)
She's pregnant and old(Head is shaved)
And that hairy mole, yech (Large domain)

I bled ... (See some stains)

Nose feeling pierced now, yikes, and (Tongue in pain)
Wildlife in my bed and I'm feeling used
The parrot said, well, last night just flew
The sheep did funny screams while in their domain

I hope it's bad dreams, but

Ascertain
Who did I love?
Was it human or ewe?
I still am screwed
I'm feeling stuffed now (Anal drain)
Geeze, my brain's decaying, hurt (Dead membranes)
Monkey on my head, and I'm really sad
The things I did just got me real mad
My friends were daring me again and again
I blame the Jim Beam but

I'm deranged
Carnival love
Too many ways to screw
I feel abused

Drinks made me deranged (I'm deranged)
Donkey wants one more time, now (Beast arranged)
Got lucky much can't complain, yech
New wife has her beard entwined
Yech, I'm of carnival mind, craves

Jim Beam has wrecked my brain

Thanks, Leo. I cracked myself up with it. It was a fun write!

Agreeing with Leo... I think the "human or ewe" line may be the crowning glory here-- too funny!

Punch drunk loved your parody, Mark! I have been drinking a lot for the past couple of days due to problems in my life. Oh, well! I also got hurt in the end! 5's!

Sobering thanks, Christie! Hope things look up for you...

Very funny, Mark, and a look at the results of too much drink.
Andria - July 10, 2009 - Report this comment
Great job, Mark, and totally worthy of 5s. I have not been drinking that much in the way of alcohol, but I HAVE been gulping down the Dr. Pepper at the rate of 4 or 5 64-ounce cups a day. Christie Marie: I hope you can get out whatever problems you are having without alcohol. Assuming you believe in God or another Higher Power, prayer works good. Otherwise, my e-mail address is on my author page, and you can talk to me about it that way. However, I only check my e-mail once or twice a day at most.

This kind of stuff is the reason I stay sober. (Another reason is I'm only 15.) 555 drunken brawls for this one!

That was funny Mark - my kind of humour. I did a parody to this song involving animals as well but it got hit with some lower scores. Can't understand why - I think it's properly paced, it made me laugh as I was writing it & I don't think it's any more rude/crude/whatever than your one here. Have a look at it if you've got time & tell me what you think (I'm up for criticism if there is any issue with the pacing or writing - it's hard to be objective when it's your own parody) http://www.amiright.com/parody/60s/who15.shtml
Also, do you get an advert on the new entries page that completely covers the author names? I've now either got to click on every entry just to see who wrote them or to comment on them when they become a day or two old and drop below it. Let me know if you have the same problem and if you know a way of seeing the author names.

Thanks Andy. I checked yours out and left a comment. LOVED IT!!! I don't get the popup over the author's name, but i do get it around the middle of the page, when you put your cursor near there. it goes away after i pull the cursor away...

Funny, although it didnt grab me as much as other commenters above. A lot of it confused me, but I guess that was the idea.

"Second round" of thanks, Agri!

Those poor animals. Funny stuff. ANd I just so happen to be reading a Sci-Fi book right now where one of the main characters is half-woman half-sheep. And it's set in the future... could be yours :cD

Thanks, Glen. What an idea for a Sci-Fi character. Not baaaaaaaaad......

ABC: I loved the "ewe" line as well, however, again maybe it was just me, but the pacing seemed really off for me. Nice idea though!
Mark Scotti - May 20, 2011 - Report this comment
Thanks, Abbott! I dont's know about the pacing, when I sing it, it seems to fit.
Blaydeman - May 21, 2011 - Report this comment
(ABC) Really good idea, pretty funny too, but like Abbott, I too had trouble with the pacing. I don't know, maybe I just wasn't reading it right.

(ABC) the images you gave me hurt my brain as well. pretty good Mark, I liked it.

Eh. . .I don't know Mark, I didn't have trouble pacing it, but some of the lines read really awkward for me like "Woke up with new bride" or "Nose feeling pierced now" or "last night just flew" etc. I understand those were all sacrifices to make them fit, but if you sang them like that, they just sound weird, and they read weird too. Guy DiRito is a firm defender of that style of writing, which I respect if that's the case here, but for me it messes the flow up because if you were to attempt to sing it it'd either through you off, or those listening off. One brilliant example is an old Matthias song when he did the same (a song he has since had deleted when he realized just how off it is). He asked me to record it, and after a couple of weeks I finally agreed that I'd do so, but I didn't have time to really edit his lyrics, so I recorded them as is. One line recorded as "I'm going to blow man kind". . . now obviously he meant blow UP man kind in the context of the song, but it definitely stood out and it got laughs for all the wrong reasons. . .things like that happen when humor or proper punctuation are sacrificed for pacing. . .we all have to do it sometimes, and I won't harp on it regularly unless I saw a lot of it like I did here, its just hard for me to get into a song that reads that way.

(ABC) Futzed grammar aside, this parody is one of the best "what did I DO last night" parodies I've ever read! 555 bottles of Alka-Seltzer for you!
Mark Scotti - May 24, 2011 - Report this comment
Thanks, Bobpie. The original version by The Who also had much futzed grammar as well...
