"The Best's Already Come"

Parody Written by:

The Lyrics

NOTE: This is NOT a political song. The thing I've noticed most about getting older isn't my thinning hair, growing belly, or omnipresent aches and pains. It's how much more attractive older (or even old) women are becoming to me. Old Lady Ribber is especially pleased by this. I didn't know "acting my age" could be so satisfying. ;D

Off of the tree of life I just picked me a prune.
Once I admired the sun, but now I love the moon.
Looks like I got here and 'twas not one bit too soon.

The best's already come. We've both seen better days.
It's like the final acts in those great Shakespeare plays.

'Though we are old we're not yet dead.
We're not close to our ends.
I still have some hair on my head,
And you don't wear "Depends".

The best's already come, but babe you're fine for me.
Neither of us are cursed with senility.

We both still can dance,
And we still have the desire.
For in our ill-fitting pants
There's the remnants of a fire.

Time to put on those wonderful old eight-track tapes.
Everyone knows that raisins are sweeter than grapes.

Even though we are past our prime,
Think of us as mature.
I'm not among Greek ruins, I'm
On a historic tour!

The best's already come, and I guess that it should.
The best's already come, but it's still damn good!

(Spoken) Whoa - Ho!

(NO fading out - I have no intention to "go gently into that good night"!)

As I watch my friends in their 50s, 60s, 70s and older still trying to hit on young ladies, I'm thankful that my lack of self-delusion permits me to see a whole world that they're missing. ;D

Great parody OMR! Yes, even I wish that Father Time would someday learn to walk backwards. ;-D 5's - Also, I don't mean to sound like a commercial here, but if aging is a problem, use what keeps this child's body young, a place in Christchurch, New Zealand, called xtend-lifeā€¢com they have hands down the best age defying products on Earth! :-) The body I occupy is physically 38yrs. old, but looks like it is in it's mid 20's. How Schweet is that? ;-)
