The Lyrics

I was recently accused of hatemongering here. Thank you to all my amiright brothers and sisters for enlightening my defamer. We at least appreciate that satire is an art form. More than that, we honor a tradition that has survived through the ages - the jester's privilege. Even the world's most horrible tyrants granted special protection to anybody who could make them laugh. So JP (obviously no relation to Michael P.), here is a lesson for you.

Back in the Middle Ages
What saved the funny pages
From all the monarch's rages?
The jester's priv-i-lege!

Just say your stuff in satire
And you'll avoid the king's ire.
It's foolproof and it's sure-fire.
The jester's priv-i-lege.

(Da Da Da Dat) Slick!
(Da Da Da Dat) Trick!
(Da Da Da Da Dat - Da Da Da Dat - Da Da Da Dat) Be quick!

So wear your bells and fool's cap,
You'll get away with your crap.
The dolts will fall in your trap.
The jes-ter's priv-i-lige! (Snap! Snap!)

(This song is short, so once more from the beginning)

In The Old West, the black hat
Would say "Smile when you say that!"
Why weren't the jokers knocked flat?
The jester's priv-i-lege!

When pundits in the nation
Tease the administration
There'll be no litigation!
The jester's priv-i-lige.

(Da Da Da Dat) Cheek!
(Da da Da Dat) Tweak!
Da Da Da Dat - Da Da Da Dat - Da Da Da Dat) The geeks!

And so while you're defilin'
Keep it cute and beguilin'
And make sure that you're smilin'
The jes-ter's priv-i-lige! (Snap! Snap!)

Remember: There is a world of difference between being the royal fool and the village idiot! ;D (Notice the smile!)

I'm going to do the right thing here and apologize. You are not a hate monger. I was lumping you in with a real hate monger poli-tick-ally incorrect (or whatever it's name is) and that was wrong. However in my defense, politics is an extremely sensitive and heated subject and political parodies are apt to raise the ire of those who see a different way, and I admit again, I'm guilty of this. Perhaps, I should avoid reading political parodies all together. Once again, I apologize and I do recognize you as a very talented parodist. Good day.

Thank you for your graciousness, JP. And I was serious as well. You have a flair for parody. Write something in the form of a song. You know that you'll get a fair shake from practically all of us. ;D

I was unaware of JP's confusing OMR (a sterling example of what a Republican should be) with PI (no comment about partisan or sociocultural standings), but it's great to see OMR apologize with this excellent parody, and for JP to do the right thing, as he said. 5s for OMR, and kudos to JP. :-)
