The Lyrics

Must have been drinking too much, to wax so philosophical. Or perhaps not drinking enough. OS lyrics here. Slightly jazzed-up MIDIs here. Their v1 is easier to follow. V2 won't scan these lyrics, but is a nice piano rendition for OS fans. Don't hear that kind of piano in MIDIs too often.
Where did Man begin?
Are we descended from some ape or simian?
Perhaps created, but orig'nally with sin?
Or is man-Kind just some chimpanzee's clever kin?
Where did we start?

Where'd the first men show?
Was it in Eden, or in central Africa?
Made in God's likeness, or a baboon's replica?
Jerusalem or jungle steamy, or Mecca?
Though we're so smart, --

-- Tears us apart! Are we orangutangs,
Or angel's throngs? Did God's imaginings --
-- Our form impart? There's so much guff
That ev'rywhere you go
So many quarrel
Rant loud and long
They scream and snarl
Throughout all the land
There's much hot air

How long has Man lived?
Can time be measured by C-14's slow decay?
Perhaps by tree rings, or some fossils tucked away?
Or six millennia, as Holy Scriptures say?
Is life unfair?

How long has Man lived?
Can time be dated by the Big-Banged Universe?
Maybe created, as described in sacred verse?
The contro-versy constant-ly is getting worse
And do I care?

No. So don't bother trying to change my mind either way. It's just a *parody*, folks! ... © 2007 Tommy Turtle. All rights reserved.

You covered all the bases. Now, what would you say if a child asked, Where do babies come from?"

Fan-TTastic... Like JAB, loved the Parkeresque ending! :)

[New idea from intro: "Where'd I Put the Gin?" (Riff 3 Times...)] ;)

Fiddlegirl: "This is not a parody to be tossed aside lightly. It is one to be heaved aside with great force." (from memory; might not be verbatim)

Geez, is *everything* a parody to you? Amazing!
And do you ever actually start one? ;)

When do I begin
To write some story for this parody I see?
It's oh-so-boring, typing drafts out endlessly
To tell the truth, I simply send them to TT
He ends; I start

Since he said "Hello" He's brought some meaning to these half-passed whirls of mine
For only he is thinking of a pun or rhyme
He will impart -- (n/m, will email you the rest)

Oh, and, uh, almost forgot -- thanks for v/c!

Not sure how I missed this beaut first time around (where there's a Williams, there's a way?). Great concept and choice of mournful OS! And really neat trick burying your initial stanza's 'deep' thoughts in that shallow grave of a last line!

TJC: A Typically-Just-Cool metaphilophorisophocal comment and analysis! ... Shallow -- c'est moi, non? Thanks for v/c (visit/chew-up-'n-spit-out ;) !!!
