"There's No Sun In Washington"

Parody Written by:

The Lyrics

OK, so I moved to Tacoma, Washington last year.
Do I enjoy the weather up here? Read on...
The sun will come out in Fargo,
New York, Houston, Tampa and Chicago,
Will have sun

I'm thinking about Las Vegas
And I wouldn't mind if they'd delay us
They've got sun!

When it rains every day, you say 'if only...'
And if I could grow fins, well then I'd stay

Yes, the sun'll be out in Memphis
You know it don't matter what the temp is
I would play

Seattle, Tacoma, I hate the aroma!
And clouds just won't go away!!

The sun'll come out in Cheyenne
How soon to that hotspot can I fly in?
Need more sun!

I'm planning a trip to Georgia
Even though I really can't afford'ta
Costs a ton!

When it hails every day, you say 'just stone me!'
And now even the bay is turning grey

Oh, the sun'll come out if I fly
Somewhere you can hang your clothes out to dry
June through May

Relocate! I can't wait! I'm leaving the whole state!
I can't wait to move away!

To Boston or Cleveland, or maybe New England
Wish that I could move today

The sun won't come out in Bryant
In Olympia and Point Defiance
There's no sun

And speaking of rain in Redmond
Those Microsoft spirits don't get dampened
There's no "Sun" (1)

I remember the day, forgot umbrella
Well those clouds must be trained, it rained all day

If the sun would come I'd feel better
When taking a bath I don't get wetter
Anyway

I'm dripping, I'm slipping, and soon I'll be flipping
I'm leaving this "northwet state" (2)

Tomorrow, tomorrow
I'm leaving tomorrow
If only could leave today
(1) Sun sued Microsoft over Java incompatibility in 2002
(2) Washington belongs to what some call "the Pacific Northwest", but I call it "the Pacific Northwet"

I went to Vegas once. And it rained. All day. The next day, there was snow on the ground at the Grand Canyon. In Arizona. It was the end of March. And how much money did I lose in Vegas? Uh, no comment. Funny, after torching that punk's Ted Kennedy-bashing song, I saw "Washington" and figured you meant D.C. Well, there's a good reason the sun doesn't come out in the Pacific Northwest: There's a big, dark cloud over Safeco Field that won't go away. It's got the number 116 on it.

Very good Sun pun and parody.

Great parody of one of the few musical tunes I truly hate. Incidentally, Boston is IN New England, but I won't hold that minor faux pas against you. 555

Funny, Tim. Especially the no Sun in Redmond gag.

*Claps.* Woah, that was great. It's clear that you did a lot for that song.
