The Lyrics

Sure, gas prices may be dropping a bit now, but they'll start goin' up pretty soon. I know how you feel. Complaining about rising gas prices wasn't doing any good, so I decided to write a song about it.
Well, you can tell by the way I'm crying now
That I'm filling up, and it costs a lot.
I'm using up all my dough,
I'm getting shafted man, and it ain't so hot.
But I'm not the only one out there,
The nation's feeling my pain, too.
And I don't know, or understand
Why this sticks to us like glue.

Whether you're a doctor, or whether you're a salesman,
We're payin' the price, payin' the price.
All the way from Maine & down to California,
We're payin' the price, payin' the price.
I'm, I'm, I'm, I'm, payin' the price, payin' the price.
I'm, I'm, I'm, I'm, payin' the price.

Well, supplies are low, but the price is high,
And if I can't pay for gas, I'll really cry.
Got a bunch of conflicts here & there,
And I think that all this crap just ain't fair.
But you're not the only one out there,
The nation's feeling your pain, too.
Still I don't know, or understand
Why this sticks to us like glue.

Whether you're a doctor, or whether you're a salesman,
We're payin' the price, payin' the price.
All the way from Maine & down to California,
We're payin' the price, payin' the price.
I'm, I'm, I'm, I'm, payin' the price, payin' the price.
I'm, I'm, I'm, I'm, payin' the price.

This is getting heavy, somebody drop it.
Somebody drop the price.
This is getting heavy, come on, just do it.
Come on & raise supplies.
Payin' the price!

This is getting heavy, somebody drop it.
Somebody drop the price.
This is getting heavy, come on, just do it.
Come on & raise supplies.
This is getting heavy, somebody drop it.
Somebody drop the price.
This is getting heavy, come on, just do it.
Come on & raise supplies

Don't feel too bad, man. There have been a couple of times when I was going to make a parody of a song, only to discover that someone already did a parody with that title (*cough* Gump *cough*).

OK, gas prices are going down now, so this song is either working or it's obsolete. If it's obsolete, it'll become un-obsolete when gas prces start going back up again (I think).

Never mind. Gas prices are creeping up now, so this parody's no longer going to be obsolete.
