The Lyrics

For those who aren't familiar: ILM = Industrial Light and Magic, George Lucas' special effects company; CG = Computer Graphics or Computer Generated.
He can shove with a wave
Of his gnarled green hand.
He can live in the swamps on harsh Dagobah's land.
And though Lucas has turned him completely CG,
He's still a Jedi
And he's always a Muppet to me.

He can teach you the Force,
And with ESP read you.
He levitates X-wings,
And the future can see too.
In the years that he taught Jedi Academy,
His students all said
"Yes, he looks like a Muppet to me."

Oh, he can't speak for himself;
He needs help from Frank Oz,
Which is totally fine.
Oh, and so backward he talks,
A big smile he brings me
With his curious lines.

His skill with light sabers
Can be truly amazing.
When he fought with Count Dooku,
His speed was just blazing.
Still, he couldn't have done
Those stunts without CG,
So he's now digitized
But he always a Muppet will be.

Oh, he can't speak for himself;
He needs help from Frank Oz,
And that's totally fine.
Oh, when so backward he talks,
A big smile he brings me
With his curious lines.

He is really quite tough
For such a small creature.
He's in five of the six of
The Star Wars features.
And he wasn't created
As purely CG;
ILM had to do
An enhancement or two,
But he's always a Muppet to me.

Nice parody. Even though I haven't seen the more recent movies, I found this funny. 555's

[SOTM] Woah. The title through me off. I thought it was gonna be about Kermit or something. Maybe even Miss Piggy. But Yoda? You sure confused me. Brilliant work, anyway.

(SOTM) Is it just me or do you sometimes expect Oscar the Grouch to pop out of the top of R2D2? Yeah, It's probably just me...

Chris, you found your target audience with this one: me. I love the Muppets, I love Frank Oz, I love Billy Joel's 70s stuff, and I love Star Wars. (No wonder the series went downhill after "Empire" - how can you top "Star Wars" meets "The Muppet Show"?) So - take it from a fan like me - you nailed this. Apparently there's a whole "filk" community out there of people who get together and perform Star Wars song parodies; I bet they'd eat this up.

SOTM - Not a Star Wars fan, but I do like the song 'What do you get a wookie for Christmas when he already has a comb?' Great concept. Now I wonder if 'Star Wars VII' will have Kermit playing Yoda's nephew...

(SOTM) Have to admit I'm not quite up on SW but this was well written and better than TOS.

(SOTM) A brilliant deconstruction of Yoda mythology. And I preferred him with Frank Oz's hand stuck up his........;-) 555

(SOTM) Well now, different this certainly is! How rate it shall I? Know not, I do. Thought I did that Jim Hensen characters about it would be! Think also I do that talk like Yoda well, I do NOT!

(sotm) very funny, Chris, and very funny idea in the first place - this could have been in my place-getters for sotm except for the repetition of that chorus, which is a always a major detracting factor for me, but you did a great job - 555
