The Lyrics

All I did was equate the sound of Brenda and Eddie to Shaggy and Scooby, and BLAMMO! Inspiration strikes! The pacing MAY be off in a spot or two, but this was too weird a connection to go unposted!
It’s quiet tonight, we’re driving with Fred
Perhaps they’re traveling by day instead
You see him driving in the street
To an un-familiar place
There they go--case to case

There’s Velma and Fred, And Daphne’s alright
But Shaggie’s got one big appetite
You hear them asking “Where are you?”
’Bout the dog named Scooby Doo.

Seems that they got a brand new case
Gonna need clues, gonna need Velma
Scary tonight, mon-ster-ous fright
Has committed a crime
Oh, here he comes! Time to go!
Running away,
I did not know
You could ever run so fast
With a ghost behind

I remember those days hanging out
At the haunted house
Floating grey ghouls, evil monsters
That freak you out
Drop the clues all around,
Soon we’ll have it all figured out
It’s not hard! Just think!
We’ll solve the case! We’re Mystery Inc.!

Shaggy and Scooby, they were rolling the doobies
While they sat in the back of the van
Riding around with this weird greyhound was a pot-smokin’ man
Nobody got any higher
Or was quicker to run, ‘cause those two were wired
They never knew they should want to solve crime and ask why
Surely Shaggy and Scooby’d always know how to get high.

Shaggy and Scooby were still rolling doobies just to see who could smoke up the most
When they arrived face to face with the fright of a big, scary ghost!
They started running like crazy
But Scooby fell down, crying “Raggy! Rave Me!”
Shaggy, he’d fight for his dog till the day that he died
Oh, ‘cause that’s why our favorites Scooby and Shaggy got high.

They ran through a cloister of undead oysters
They ran past a troll on a bridge
Why did they go? For the mystery? No-
They were both on their way to the fridge
They started to eat when the monster got beat, turned
Out to be Old Man McRidge!

Oh, Oh
Another mystery solved!
(Sax solo laced with pictures of Mystery Inc running from the monster)

They ran for a while in a very fun style
But it's always the same in the end
The monster was caught and unmasked on the spot
They de-parted, the closest of friends
Then the dog and the dude went back for the food
And then they both started tokin’ again!

Shaggy and Scooby are STILL smokin’ doobies
As they sit in the back of the van
People cry and they moan
Saying ‘They’re never shown
With the weed in their hands!
Can’t you just say they were ‘punchy?’
The fact is that they always had the MUNCHIES
We always knew they were tokin’ too much to ask why, So
That's what I know about Shaggy and Scooby
Can’t solve the crime ‘cause they’re smokin’ a dooby
And there’s why I’m sayin’ Shaggy and Scooby got high.

Velma and Fred, Oooh, Daphne’s alright
Even Shaggy and his appetite
Forever searchin for the clue!
Oh, where are you, Scooby Doo?

Jinkees, what a great parody! And you would've gotten away with it, and with all fives, if not for some meddling kids!
