and started an opra from then

in this summer that came to an end
from the sly to the schmos

When did I write about communist china?
Terrible - you don't seem to understand the concept of rhyme in many, many portions of this song - this is a key component of writing a parody. The subject matter is egotistical, because you're not in the Top 5 very often as far as I can tell. At least you won't be in the Top 5 very often if you continue mocking Billy Joel in this grotesque manner. I don't enjoy ripping on parodies, but when they're this poor, I must.
Will you people leave me alone? Im not the only one who misses a ryme here and there! And you seem new so you wouldnt remember my constant streak of parodies on the charts...constantly...late last year...Every song I submitted would go to the charts, but then I took a break and returned to find no luck in this new year....and Ive been rushing just to get more parodies than Tone-def so Ive been down...Trust me...I dont suck!
A 5 for ambition, a 5 for effort, but a 3 for actual practice. It was worth a shot, and it's only a step below your best.
Damn -- tough room! I know I'm late to the party, but to me, the rhyme scheme actually seems to match the original very closely -- the various sections have irregular and inconsistent structures -- maybe that's where you were thrown off, Frank? Though your comment seems to suggest that you know BJ's music pretty well, so I'm not sure why you wouldn't see the similarity between this and the original in that regard. Some impefect rhymes, yes, but that's fine with pop music, and this certainly takes no more liberties that BJ himself in that area... Geez, you're gonna hate the one I'm about to put up to this tune...
This is terrible and you didn't even spell the name of the original correctly.
As Ron pointed out, it's "R-E-S-T-A-U-R-A-N-T". Agree with everything Frank said. And agree with Michael ("this is only a step below your best") because your best is not very good either.
Damn, we're nitpicking typos now. What's up with this parody? Why does it inspire such bitchiness?
