The Lyrics

Once again, the spirit of BJ has possessed me, which isn't easy, seeing as how he's still alive.
Some folks like to get away, take a holiday from their lousy job.
Try to make it in show business, or get with the Mob.
But I'm taking a walk down to the unemployment line.
I'm in a new work state of mind.

I've seen all the CEOs try to run the shows in their limousines.
Been hired and fired in quick-evolving scenes.
But I know what I'm needing, 'cause I've got way too much downtime.
I'm in a new work state of mind.

It was so easy living day-by-day
out of touch with the chicks and the lads.
But now I need a little spending cash.
The New York Times, I read their ads.

It comes down to reality, and that's fine with me, 'cause I'm broke as hell.
I don't care if I gotta work for that dude at Dell.
I don't have any reason other than being left behind.
I'm in a new work state of mind.

'm taking a walk down to the unemployment line.
'Cause I'm...I'm in a new work state of mind.

Good preface, good parody. I trust that this is not a true story!?!

"I trust that this is not a true story?" It depends on what the definition of the word "is" is. It has been a true story. But my present job has put me in a state of mind to look for new work.
