The Lyrics

A couple weeks ago I saw an article about the approach of a giant asteroid from the fictional, but widely believed Planet Niburu. It is due to "approach" the Earth on February 18. I started working on this song to get it up in time, before all my readers end up vaporized in a cloud of cosmic dust. Then I looked at this site: http://neo.jpl.nasa.gov/ca/ and I figured I better speed things up a bit. Sooner or later one of these unmanned Death Stars is going to end up in Kansas City. And that is worrying me.
Space rocks keep falling on my head
Does that mean that life on Planet Earth
Will soon be dead?
Score a bull's eye hit?
Those space rocks
Are falling on my head
It's appalling

A giant meteor
Orbits 'round the sun
And if our two orbits intersect
Then we are done
Astronomers agree
If space rocks
Start falling on our head
Best get hauling

Seems there's no way to know
The probes they send to track it
Just can't crack it, 'twill be a shock
When this big rock
Steps up to smack it

Space rocks have fallen here before
Way back when mammalians
Replaced the dinosaur
Evolution shift, when
Our furry forbears got the urge
To keep breeding
'twixt you and me
This thing's worrying me

It's way too fast
My tinfoil hat
Will never save me

Space rocks will fall to earth again
It's not a matter so they say
Of if, but when
We'll be history
'cause NASA will never
Stop the fall with its science
Countdown: five, four, three...
That's what's worrying me.

Despite all the satellites we have surrounding earth, 90% of what's near us is not seen!!!

The really big problem is that we can never know what's up front in the direction that the sun moves, doesn't matter how good we get att mapping the solar system and possibly divert whats here, still there will always be the risk of running into big chunks of debris somewhere up ahead because the sun and the whole systems moves forward too. Well, I got here way late for this one but it was worth the wait, had a good chuckle. "Look up and live" Or die, as the case may be!
