The Lyrics

Based on a true story
"Ice Cream Man"

(sung to the tune of "Iron Man" by Black Sabbath, 1970)

I... AM... ICE CREAM MAN

Why does his driving suck?
Can he really be that drunk?
He can't drive at all.
Can't see the number you're supposed to call.
Does he have fudge bars
Or the Popsicles shaped like stars?
It's all sugar here.
At least we're not buying beer.

Truck's stopped in the street
Children run out ready to eat
Hand him dollar bills
And their stomachs become full.

Nobody knows him,
Still no one leaves him alone!
Has he got his own car,
And a wife and kids at home?

Now October's here,
Ice cream man's no longer here.
He's gone to another place
Followed by the state police!

Everyone wants him
But he doesn't slow down.
He just keeps driving,
Knocking old ladies to the ground.

He'd rather be dead than have
"Pop Goes the Weasel" stuck in his head!
Driving fast as he can,
Ice Cream Man, come again!
