The Lyrics

I haven't written a parody for a while. This one is about the infamous Jonestown mass suicide of 1978. All these followers in the People's Temple led by douchebag Jim Jones were forced to drink a poison laced drink causing over 900 people to die. This is about someone telling their girlfriend to stay away from cults with questionable motives and not end up the same way as Jonestown.
All their times have come
Here but now they're gone
My friends don't drink the Kool-Aid
Nor does my family, my pals and neighbors, we are not like they are
Come on baby, don't drink the Kool-Aid
Heed my command, don't drink the Kool-Aid
Too many people have died, don't drink the Kool-Aid
Baby I'm your man

Jim Jones is done
The Temple they're gone
James Warren Jones
Is in Hell for eternity, James Warren Jones
All 900 men and women in one day, shame on James Warren Jones
All 900 men and women in one day, no real happiness
All of the 900 dying in one day, You can't be like they are
Come on baby, don't drink the Kool-Aid
Heed my command, don't drink the Kool-Aid
Too many people have died, don't drink the Kool-Aid
Baby I'm your man

Now Jonestown is done
Here but now they're gone
Came the last day of sadness
And it was clear they couldn't go on
Then the door was open and Leo Ryan appeared
Bullets blew then he disappeared
The bullets blew then he disappeared, saying "I've been hit"
Come on people, and they tried to leave
And some ran to him, then they started to fly
They looked backward and said goodbye, avoided being like they are
Flew away from the land, avoided being like they are
Come on baby, don't drink the Kool-Aid

Not an easy topic, but well done- 555! Interestingly, Jonestown wasn't the armed camp as sometimes portrayed. Only 32 guns were found and only 3 were automatic. Lots of crossbows too! The soldiers approaching walked and crawled due to false reports that the People's Temple had machine guns. Only Jim Jones and his personal nurse died of self-inflicted gunshot wounds, the rest by cyanide poisoning. In Germany on May 1, 1945 the residents of Demmin committed mass suicide in the face of Red Army assault. The good news was that they shot the 3 Soviet negotiators first and the HJ engaged the first Soviet troops with MGs and panzerfausts killing as many as they could. Others feigned suicide in the river and attacked Soviet units at night. It's estimated that between 700-1250 committed mass suicide. In Berlin, a total of 4000 from Apr-May 25th including mass suicides of officers, families, and women fearing rape.
