the bowling teams came down to the alley
some hungry bowlers got up to dine
i looked across and there i saw billy
standing in the greek food line
his bowling bag slung on his shoulder
he grabbed a gyro and he paid
when he returned his team started crying
and through their tears i heard them say

billy, don't eat the gyro, don't be a fool with our lives
billy, you need some beano to counter the lamb and the chives
and if you have to let go
billy, let it out slow
billy, give up the gyro
come have a beer

soon billy's team was down by just nine pins
and all they had was billy's last throw
their captain says, you gotta do someting
cause you have got a really slow roll
you need to bring your runway speed up
and bring us down some extra pins
i know we told you not to eat this gyro
forget all that and get the win
here, billy, dig in!

billy gulped in the gyro, something his stomach disliked
billy tried like a hero to keep all the gases inside
but as he started to throw
we yelled "billy, give it gas!" "oh. no!"
billy, blasting his "turbo" got a big strike

i heard his bowling team got a letter
saying no one should win that way
it said the house could serve no more gyros
to prevent the "afterburner" play
i heard his teammates all cried...hooray!
