The Lyrics

I heard you on the radio back eighty three
Singing badly avoiding the concept of harmony
It was the begining of the final music tragedy
Oh - ah - oh.

All my friends have got you on the Em Pee Three
Every time I hear you it always iritates me
And they always play it at every par ty

(Oh-a-oh) Remember Elvis Presley
(Oh-a-oh) Saluting Eddie Cochran

Buggles killed the rock and roll star
Buggles killed the rock and roll star

In my mind and in my car
Electronica has gone to far
Synths came in we lost the plot
Guitar became not so hot
(Oh-a-oh-oh-oh)

You uhered in the world of M T V
Viedos mean more than true personality
No the live stars have almost cesed to me

(Oh-a-oh) I love you buddy
(Oh-a-oh) God is Alan Freed

Buggles killed the rock and roll star
Buggles killed the rock and roll star
Buggles killed the rock and roll star
Buggles killed the rock and roll star

The amazing thing is that after recording this song, the Buggles (Trevor Horn and Geoff Downes) joined Yes.

Interesting parody. You must know your pop music history. However, synths were pushing out guitar rock long before the Buggles one-shot - remember Disco?

And as the comic book guy on the Simpsons would say, "Worst Yes ever!"

I like the sentiment. But maybe not going all the way back to Eddie Cochran and Elvis... :-)

had to give you 3's, the pacing was off, as was the structure of the song, and a little extra work would have cleaned that up

Pacing off. I was hoping you would knock down Trevor Horn (with those glasses and nasally voice) a couple notches. ;)
