Song Parodies -> "Bring Back Those Days!"

Original Song Title:

"Those Were The Days"

Parody Song Title:

"Bring Back Those Days!"

Parody Written by:

Old Man Ribber

The Lyrics

As I see Occupy Wall Street and read of similar activities planned throughout the country, I wonder if somehow I slept through the last forty-plus years. So, I imagine sixty-something Larry "Trotsky" Jones and his wife Lisa "Sunshine" Smith relaxing in their suburban mansion watching the events and feeling crushing waves of nostalgia. Remembering their youth, around the piano they sing... ;D
Boy, the way the S.D.S
Caused the country much distress
Making all the streets a mess.
Bring back those days!

Acting up without all cares,
Making bombs with William Ayres.
Sister, we could use some folks like Abby Hoffman's long hairs.

It's just like a sixties day.
Join the protest. Help us say
"We will wreck the U.S.A.!"
Bring back those days!

If only our intrepid Yippies-turned-Yuppies had been blessed with overwhelming media approval, covert financial support (hello Soros!), and a rabble-rousing community organizer in the White House! ;D

OMR: A great way to "bridge" those 40+ years, from Berkeley to Brooklyn! 5s

That's not the way I remember the Sixties. The Sixties was the Summer of Love and Strawberry Fields. Then there was the early Seventies - those were the shows.

I was born during the Vietnam War era so I don't recall too much of it. I do remember the "energy crisis" and lousy music on the radio (the punk/new wave revolution rescued us from that), the pessimism, Iran hostage debacle and such. The 80s rocked, the 90s slid into suckability and the 00s sucked dog puke in every aspect. I'm so glad to see some people not kowtowing to what BS the politicians and media belches out. Nice update parody, but today instead of a huge bulky piano let's substitute a synthesizer for that. Whether it's a professional one or a toy, it's "smaller, lighter, cheaper" (that's a catch term from my military career) ; ) 555!

Good parody, but it needs a bridge.
