"That Neville Stood Up To Harry"

Parody Written by:

The Lyrics

That Neville stood up to Harry
Cause his courage got the best of him
He thought it was time cause in points they're behind
And he was boiling up to the brim
When he stood up to this wizard
Hands clenched up a little and sweating a lot
But that Neville spoke up though his throat had a lump
And said, Griffs, gotta put a stop
The three of you will blow it
So I've a riddle here for you
Though I'm too scared to go nowhere
I'm still a threat to you
Now it's a pretty good riddle ploy
So tell ol' Neville it's true
What's frozen and cold and laying on the floor
Yeah it's me all knocked out by you
Then Ron said, this is Harry
And she's Hermione
And we'll let you rest, right through your next test
While we go have ourselves a peek

Harry Potter don't you know?
That cute Hermione
Has sights set on Ron Weasley
While ol' Neville sleeps in peace
Where have you been?
For all of us this story's getting old
Exchanging woos, but you don't even know

When Neville opened up his eyes
Well he said can't take no more
And ice dropped from his frozen lips
As he got up off the floor
Then a phoenix flew with fiery wings
Gives the plot another twist
Voldemort is caught by surprise
It's a stellar magic assist

With the evil vanquished Harry says
You did pretty good there Ron
In Hermione's game of love
Poor Ron Weasley is just a pawn

Loved by miss Granger Ron it's Ron
Scampers is his mouse and he's always gone
The two little love birds Harry don't know
Rowling do they marry?
We don't know!

Dishevelled hair of red
We see but she still thinks he's neat
Can you listen to him drivel?
Can't believe that Harry's beat
Funny that Harry's still in the dark
But then again Harry ain't no sage
It don't take no dunce, she's a special witch
She's the best witch of her age
They say

Loved by miss Granger Ron it's Ron
Scampers is his mouse but he's always gone
The two little love birds Harry don't know
Rowling will they marry?
We must know!

Reminded of that SNL sketch where Lindsay Lohan played Hermione and Rachel Dratch played a mammarily distracted Harry. Uh, what were we talking about?

I thought this was going to be a WWII parody about Neville Chamberlain and Harry Truman; but, well done, anyway.

Just realized that this could have involved the Wars of the Roses, with Lord Neville standing up to King Henry VI. John J: Chamberlain died in 1940, so he probably never knew Truman existed.

(HP CONTEST) Something about this did not work, I don't know if it's the pacing the way I remember it, or the content. Very jumbly, it was hard to understand what was being said in many lines.

(HP) ^ Yeah. Started off about Neville's act of courage and sort of wandered off into Ron/Hermione territory. Loved the "Poor Ron Weasley is just a pawn" line, though.
Jeff Reuben - December 09, 2005 - Report this comment
(HP) A bit scattered, but overall well done

You lost me with the narrative in some places, but I enjoyed the lyrical stuff you did very much. Especially liked this one: 'He thought it was time cause in points they're behind'. Tough OS, good job.
