Song Parodies -> "Messin' With You"

Original Song Title:

"Precious And Few"

Original Performer:

Climax

Parody Song Title:

"Messin' With You"

Parody Written by:

Guy DiRito

The Lyrics

A response to Wussy Pseudonym and others who comment unfavorably hiding behind anonymity.
Messin' you do in the comments that we all share,
Why it you do, on the sly, the dung that you strew?
And when you don't like a song you groan (don't like a song)
You just cannot play fair (play fair)
Messin' you do in the comments that we all share.

Maybe you just can't be kind, you rub on the flare,
Taking the view I've this feeling you're much more aware.
And if we find that you have no charm, 'cause you're not playin' fair,
The messin' you do in your comments begins to wear.

---- Instrumental Interlude ----

And since you won't give your name, unknown,
Could be less that we care,
Messin' with you in the comments we too can share.

Messin' on you in the comments we will, we swear,
Quiet your queue, like a fly in ointment, that's you.
And if you don't find okay our tone, (don't find okay)
It's like couldn't we care? (couldn't we care)

Lessons to you in these comments will come to bear.

as soon as I see a pseudonym posting a non-humorous comment, I sub-consciously preface the comment with the 4 words "This frightened person says..." It's then gonna have to be a pretty good comment to be taken seriously after that initial setback - hear hear guy - 555

Yes, The Thinker: fear, fear and fear = a frightened person = my point exactly
Adagio - April 15, 2005 - Report this comment
The Thinker: Stuart McArthur speaks for us all on this. And, I don't think Wussy Psudonym on my parody was afraid of anything except being found out for the hateful person he/she is. That was the only fear there. There is no excuse for psuedonyms...they are usually the ones doing the attacking. Let's say 99% of the time.
Stuart McArthur - April 15, 2005 - Report this comment
fear is still fear though, adagio - my point is, if you're scared, don't say anything, which is worlds more honourable than making your point with no accountability - a king-hit then running away - any point you're wanting to make loses total respect from the outset - in fact the point goes backwards

and to The Thinker: although I understand, but disagree with, your rationalisations, why anonymity now? There's nothing to fear here. You're making interesting points in a reasonable forum - what bad can happen to you? I could be making this point anonymously too, but if I did, I'd be ashamed of my weakness - why aren't you?
fake name - April 15, 2005 - Report this comment
I read the comments you're talking about in this parody. The dude didn't find one of the parodies funny. The song was getting fives at lightening speed. It had almost 20 votes by the time I looked at it and the day wasn't over yet. A lot of people would be lucky to get three or four votes even if they parodied the same exact song and did a much better job of it. Wussy asked what he was missing because people were commenting on how funny it was and he didn't get it. Someone actually tried to tell him it was funny because it rhymed with the original. That makes almost everything on this site funny enough to get fives, but a lot songs that are much funnier than that one don't get as many fives as that one was getting. If it's not blind praise and straight fives, it's clearly not welcome here and will be retaliated against. That's the only reason it could possibly matter who exactly had the offending opinion. That's what I think every time I see someone screaming about real names. It's enough for authors who really want honest feedback to know that SOMEONE didn't find their song funny or didn't think it was paced very well or whatever. They don't call it an attack and try to get it removed. Their friends don't ask if the person's mom and dad are brother and sister. Their friends don't break the rules and do attack parodies to retaliate for them.

Understood, Stu...I was just saying that you made this point beautifully and added a few of my own thoughts about WP.
Adagio - April 15, 2005 - Report this comment
fake name..unfortunately the person WP was not just asking a simple question. He/she went on and on about it and eventually tried to label me in an insulting way. That is in no way constructive. Hence, they hid behind the WP. As Johnny said ..."I can only conclude that you don't want Adagio to know who you are (you're real name)"
Guy - April 15, 2005 - Report this comment
Fake Name - Wussy took a cheap shot aimed at Adagio's intelligence in a comment that has since been removed. It was made to look sincere but only someone really gullible would have bought off on it. That is where the heartburn originated. Adagio has been posting here since around May or June of 2003 and anyone who has reviewed her parodies would know that she is not in the least bit mentally challenged. I took a shot back at Wussy for the offensive remark. If you dish it out you should expect some incoming responses. Most if not all of those 20 something votes came from her peers. Now do you want to argue with all of these writers? Here is your forum, please be my guest.
Stuart McArthur - April 15, 2005 - Report this comment
fake name: I didn't bother reading anything after the words "fake name" because it's a ridiculous situation to be arguing with someone wearing a veil and swathed in neck-to-toe bullet-proof blanketing, while arguing a purely academic point - there's nothing to be afraid of here - I just don't get the fear thing

There are some ppl here who are mentally challenged. I won't say who they are and don't say that on their parodies but it is true. There are some ppl who seem like a scary peson irl again not saying who. We are suppost to give ratings but maybe somone woulnd't be honest about a scary person or scary person's girlfreind because its just a website and its not worth waking up dead irl. When ppl say you have to give your real name hello thats not safe.

B - I am quite aware of who you are referring to here and I have unfortunately seen some writers in the past take some cheap shots at this person. I have intervened when I saw this and received apologies from some and apathy from others. But scary? Come on now.

Parody is pretty good, comments are a bit overdone. This happens whenever there's anonymity. Just sigh and bear it.

"B" answered your question more eloquently than I could have. Have you read the comments I pointed out?
Guy - April 15, 2005 - Report this comment
Thinker - It would seem to me that "B" has a problem with people who are obviously differently challenged than most of us. Why would "B" think this person a threat? This writer has been on this site longer than me and I have yet to see anything that would suggest that this person is anything other than what they present to us honestly. So stow your sympathy for gay bashers and racists if you cannot see the problem that "B" presents in his/her thinking on the matter of the writer he/she is referring to.
The Thinker to Guy - April 15, 2005 - Report this comment
We read B's comment differently. To me, he/she was NOT saying that the mentally challenged person and the scary person are the same person.
The Thinker to Guy - April 15, 2005 - Report this comment
P.S. Sympathy for gay bashers and racists? I have none to stow. Are you actually missing all of this?
Guy - April 15, 2005 - Report this comment
Sorry, poor choice of wording. Should have said for those who are the targets of racist and gay bashers. And no I'm not missing the point. "B" stated in part

"but maybe somone woulnd't be honest about a scary person or scary person's girlfreind"

That is a direct reference to the differently challenged person he is referencing as she is mentioned in this persons parodies on many occasions.
B - April 15, 2005 - Report this comment
I ddn't mean the mentally challenged person. I meant somone else seems scary irl
Guy - April 15, 2005 - Report this comment
Excuse me "B" but what exactly is irl? Maybe if you weren't quite so "eloquent" in your writing as the Thinker suggests I would have some kind of clue as to what exactly you are trying to say. And is "suppost" an alternate spelling for supposed?

I think it starts with shut and ends with up (clever)....but B and The Thinker, my point is simple - why stand in the shadows in your cloak, mask, and hood, to us? I'm sure WE'RE not scary
The Thinker to Stuart McArthur - April 16, 2005 - Report this comment
Have you read the comments I pointed out? It reminds me of the Nazi neighbor in American Beauty. I think "B" meant the same person. Yes that is scary.
Guy - April 16, 2005 - Report this comment
Hey Stu - I believe that Melhi's parody was about terrorists and the comments on that thread were addressed toward terrorists and terrorism. I fail to see what that has to do with racism unless Thinker and Co. believe that bashing terrorists is somehow racist. This takes PC to a whole new level. Apparently nazi = bad, terrorist = good?

And I'm with you on this. If you can't put your name on what you stand for then you probably don't really stand for much. Could you imagine if John Hancock signed his name on the American Declaration of Independence as "Annoyed in the Colonies" how seriously it would have been taken?
Stuart McArthur - April 16, 2005 - Report this comment
I don't take direction from pseudonyms, Guy, so I'm not sure what you mean by the first bit - and good example for the second bit

btw there are plenty of journos who use their real name and write unpopular pieces, and they don't get “murdered irl” (hmm, I like that irl!) so the fear doesn't have the rational base that the pseudonyms claim - it's just plain fear of putting their name to their opinion (in this thread for example)

We use our names - why aren't we afraid? - and what would we be afraid of?

if you put your arguments logically, not personally, and not offensively, nobody's going to "murder irl" you. It's because the pseudonyms want to put their arguments emotionally, personally, and offensively (which might well incense a lunatic murderer) that they're scared - which is why I see it as a cowardly non-accountable king-hit - because they're CHOOSING to be offensive, but sneakily avoiding any consequences of that choice

anyway, a frightened life is a miserable life, and that's their choice, and who am I to judge them - I do have freedom of choice though - and I choose to treat them the way I treat the ones-guys " like damp lettuce - yucky, but of no real consequence

Melhi's parody targeted racists who assume that everyone of a certain race is a terrorist. Guy's comments there and here confirm that she hit her mark dead-on.

You asked what there is to be afraid of. I directed you to comments to answer your question. You refused to read them. You again asked what there is to be afraid of. I again directed you to comments to answer your question. You refused to read them. You again asked what there is to be afraid of.

I am afraid of the person who uses the pseudonym "Guy DiRito". I am afraid of what he is capable of. Anyone who disagrees with him "or scary person's girlfreind" would be stupid to use their real name. As "B" said, "its just a website and its not worth waking up dead irl".

Adieu.
Stuart McArthur - April 16, 2005 - Report this comment
I just addressed that above

the reason I'm not afraid is because I address people logically and with respect, even if I disagree with their politics, or outlook, so they'd have no cause to "murder irl" me - even Guy!!! *tremble*

on the other hand, you say you're so afraid of Guy Di Rito, that unless you use a pseudonym, you might "wake up dead irl"

hmm....(that's what I meant by a scared life becoming a miserable life)

btw I didn't refuse to do anything - as I said, I don't take direction from pseudonyms
Guy - April 16, 2005 - Report this comment
Methinks the Thinker thinks a bit too much. Tell me Thinker, have you discussed your paronoia much with your shrink? You really should seek some sort of professional help. You know not one thing for sure about me except that you think I may actually "murder you irl." You probably believe that if you read something on the internet then it must be so.

I write a lot of different kinds of parodies and just because I write about something does not necessarily mean that I think or act the way I write. Even in comments I will sometimes inject junk just for reaction. So if you believe everything you read on the internet then you must be an easy mark for any sort of confidence game. I basically keep my anonymity intact by keeping most of my private life seperate from my writings. You aren't even close to figuring out what I am really all about because if you were you would know that your paronoia is completely unfounded. You just go on being happily anonymous and paranoid all you want. As Stu says, it must be really sad to live in fear. Peace.
The Thinker - April 16, 2005 - Report this comment
I think I understand the rules now....It's OK to post racist and homophobic comments, or joke that the mentally challenged are the result of inbreeding, as long as you always use the same pseudonym. Thank you all for clarifying.

Guy, are you implying that your lengthy anti-gay diatribes are "junk just for reaction"? Here's your opportunity to cure my "unfounded paranoia" and to let us all see what a wonderful fellow you are. Please tell us--junk-free--what you were "really all about" with your comments here...

http://www.amiright.com/parody/2000s/u216.shtml

A response like "I don't have to explain myself" or "I don't take direction from pseudonyms" is a cop-out. Say something like that and we will know that you meant everything you said.

Redeem yourself. The floor is yours.

Thinker - Take it anyway you want to, i don't care and I really have explained much more to you than you deserve to know. I tried to meet you halfway and you come back at me with this crap. You are really disappointing. You are the one copping out by hiding behind anonymity. At this point I really don't care to know who you are and I really don't give two pieces of dung whatever those comments say in whatever thread you are referring to. You have clearly missed, spun and/or twisted everything that has been said into your own xenophobic diatribe. Momma told me about arguing with fools. I should have listened to her. I think we can conclude this discussion now since you don't even want to consider a compromise. I tried to reach out to you and you slapped my hand. You really don't know who I am huh, "fellow"?

I've been watching this with some amusement. I take almost nothing that appears on this site seriously to include some pretty ignorant comments. Get real people this is a parody website. Parody defined for you.

noun: humorous or satirical mimicry
noun: a composition that imitates somebody's style in a humorous way
verb: make a spoof of or make fun of

If you take this site too serious, then you're just too serious.
