The Lyrics

Dark living room
I trip over a broom
There's a tray sittin' there
With a tea set that's rare
The pitcher is ruined
Someone's gonna be stewin'
My wife just dug it up at some fair

Oh, Super Glue
I'm gonna finally get some use from you
Screw the instructions, I know what to do
Just open up the cap, then aim and spew
Ooh, ooh, ooh

Wasn't hard to mend
It's together again
Though shaped kind of strange
Like it's been rearranged
But I don't think she'll know
Missing pieces won't show
I'll stick it behind
All these decorative vines

Oh, Super Glue
Without your help I don't know what I'd do
I always knew I could depend on you
I really think that it looks better, too
Ooh, ooh, ooh

The game I play, I play to win
Fixin' things like Tool Time Tim
Puttin' one over
That's what I gotta do, y'all
Dancin' round and fakin' out
Tryin' to dodge a chewin' out
Puttin' one over, puttin' one over
Puttin' one over, puttin' one over
Super Glue, huh, huh

The aim of my scam
Was to stay out of a jam
As for this thing
Might it be Ming? Don't give a damn
But I'm shit outta luck
Now my fingers are stuck
And time's running out
Cause I just heard her truck

Oh, Super Glue
Wish that I could get unstuck from you
But if I can't, I don't know what to do
My hands are fused together with this goo
Ooh, ooh, ooh

Super Glue, Super Glue
Super Glue, Super Glue
Puttin' one over
Puttin' one over
Puttin' one over

Thanks, guys. Boy, was I ever addicted to sniffing those inky work sheets in school.

Great work... I love the OS and movie, and this one paced well... I used to love sniffing carbons and copies fresh out of the Xerox machine, used to eat glue sticks and paste as a little girl (they stopped using library paste when I was in 2nd grade, circa 1986), and as for something related to "Superfly", a friend of my parents whom I called "Uncle Lee" owned a gold car resembling the one from Superfly that was called a Stutz Blackhawk IIRC. He was involved in some shady stuff, and I wanted the car when he passed on, so he had it on his will to me. It got seized from his estate along with many other things when he killed himself in the midst of a tax-fraud investigation...

Thanks, Andria! I still have my vinyl copy of the "Super Fly" soundtrack but strangely enough I never got to see the movie. Too bad about the car!

You're welcome. I have that vinyl copy too, and it's probably for the better that I didn't get the Stutz. Imagine what finding any part for it would be like (I think it was made in Germany in very small numbers in the 70s), what the insurance or finding a willing mechanic would be like, and the reaction by the police, especially in the town where I live, known for arsehole cops, would be like. I had a yellow Fiat Spyder when I was younger, and the cops' reaction to a young redheaded woman driving a yellow sports car was less than favorable... they wouldn't like the Stutz at all...
