Parody Written by:

The Lyrics

( hard rock guitar riff )

The ghost of Jacob Marley
Ebenezer's former partner
Said "Ebenezer, three spirits,
Will come to see you here!"

At first that Scrooge was frightened
He cowered there in his bed
But when Jacob Marley vanished
He simply scoffed instead

Scrooge said "Bah, humbug!"
Didn't like Christmastime
Scrooge said "Bah, humbug!"

( hard rock guitar riff )

The Ghost of Christmases Past
Showed Scrooge his past happiness

Then the Ghost of Christmas Present came
Showed Scrooge his present mess

Ghost of Christmas Future ( ooo-ooo! )
Wore black robes with a hidden face
( It ) Showed time was running out -
Scrooge knelt and cried and prayed for grace!

No more "Bah, humbug"
( Now ) He's a happy guy!
No more "Bah, humbug"

( hard rock guitar riff )

Scrooge ended up feeling grand and swell
Thought he'd mess with Cratchit's head

At Scrooge's counting house place where Cratchit worked
Scrooge paid Cratchit more bread

With a few handshakes and a few bear-hugs
Scrooge made Bob Cratchit's day

From that day on, on every Christmas,
( Scrooge would ) Scrooge would be merry and say -

What
Tiny Tim
said:

"( God ) Bless us, every one ! "

What Tiny Tim said !
( Yeah! )

( hard rock guitar riff )

Ooop, a couple of typos got into that URL-link to the free audio sample - when you cut and past that link into your browser, be sure that after you paste it, before you go there, manually remove the blank space between the KHB0010 and the 05/0 parts of the link, and also remove the blank space between the 05/0/1 and the 02-6650567-8322524 parts of the link. I just verified that if those two bogus blanks are taken out, the link works OK and the free audio sample is still accessible.

God Bless us everyone. The real Tiny TIm would use a ukulele and your hard rock guitar riff would just sound so weak. Nice work JD. By the way, you have mail.

sorry about the blanks in the URL JohnnyD, but the software now inserts spaces every 70 characters to prevent spammers from getting too annoying (putting in thousand character lines to cause browser wrap). Someone always has to be the sand in the virtual bathing suit of the web.

What Leah said - a well-retold fable: I always like it when it's possible to get a rounded and complete story into one parody... have to admit, though, my altering of this one is a somewhat different theme ;-)

Thanks, Phil. You have me a bit intrigued...please tell me more about your own altering of Dickens' "A Christmas Carol" ... how would you describe your theme and your own take on Dickens' classic old fable? Thanks.

(Decathlon - Event 4) I'm still a bit unsure of how this is a 'tale of the unexplained', but I liked it nonetheless! Well done, Johnny!

(DEC4) Dickens accompanied by the most played guitar riff of all time...now THAT's an original idea! Lovely, JD. 555
