If they don't catch rodents they eat house plants or go after birds. Most of the time they keep the varmits out of the fruit trees.

thanks 2eagle...yeah, i always knew it was springtime when the cat dragged in the first dead bird of the season...they have a special noise they make to alert me "hey, got someone deceased in my mouth i want you to see"
