The Lyrics

This is a parody which follows the plot of the Doctor Who story the Enemy of the World which starred Patrick Troughton.
On an old T.V. show
An evil man from Yucatan
Spoke of peace in wit and style
And Kent said, "If you have the chance,
You could replace his evil stance,
And the people could be happy for a while."
Now Salamander made the Doctor shiver
With every word that he delivered.
The Doctor was unsure yet
Should he take one more step?
And he was doubtful to which side;
Who was good and which one lied?
And he took it all in his stride
The day the Denes died.

And "Bye, bye," said this Mexican guy,
Ever ready, nerves are steady with a glint in his eye.
Hungry for power, unconcerned with small fry,
Saying, "This'll be the day that you die."
"This'll be the day that you die."

Putting power above love
Salamander's fist tightens in his glove
As the volcanoes being to blow.
Then Jamie's equiped with a role
With information the final goal;
Information that will prove what we all know...
Old Sal's talking with Fedorin
Discussing his next victim
And all the latest news
So Fed could pay his dues.
Meanwhile Griffin was busy cooking duck
While Victoria was simply stuck
In the kitchen out of luck
The day that Denes died.

And "Bye, bye," said this Mexican guy,
Ever ready, nerves are steady with a glint in his eye.
Hungry for power, unconcerned with small fry,
Saying, "This'll be the day that you die."
"This'll be the day that you die."

Now for five years they've been on their own
Underground feeling so alone,
But that's not how it used to be.
A war that raged but in a dream
Just left them with a crazy machine
With but one way to reclaim their destiny.
Volcanoes destroyed town after town.
Earthquakes shook the buildings down.
The truth they had not learned
Only lies when Sal returned.
And while Swann and Co stayed in the dark,
Jamie and Astrid met in the park
And Victoria heard old Griffin bark
The day that Denes died.

And "Bye, bye," said this Mexican guy,
Ever ready, nerves are steady with a glint in his eye.
Hungry for power, unconcerned with small fry,
Saying, "This'll be the day that you die."
"This'll be the day that you die."

The fallout shelter was helter-skelter.
Mary was unhappy 'bout the cards fate had dealt her.
She wanted to get to the surface fast.
So Swann complained about the time that had passed
And wanted to see the sky so vast
And smell the air and the fresh green grass.
Now the world outside showed no trace of gloom -
A disbelieving Swann was to meet his doom -
He never got the chance
To warn of Sal's advance;
Because Salamander refused to yield
And smashed Swann's head down in the field
And it was then his fate was sealed
The day that Denes died.

And "Bye, bye," said this Mexican guy,
Ever ready, nerves are steady with a glint in his eye.
Hungry for power, unconcerned with small fry,
Saying, "This'll be the day that you die."
"This'll be the day that you die."

And there they were all in one place;
The Research Station, far from safe
With no time left to start again.
Now, Bruce he waved a mighty stick
And the Doctor played a party trick
And drove poor Giles Kent right round the bend.
In the Sanctum Kent was in a rage;
His fists slammed hard upon the page.
Pretending all was well -
Drawing Kent out of his shell.
Meanwhile the shelter people regained their sight
No more believing Salamander's might
And as he burnt they saw the light
The day that Denes died.

And "Bye, bye," said this Mexican guy,
Ever ready, nerves are steady with a glint in his eye.
Hungry for power, unconcerned with small fry,
Saying, "This'll be the day that you die."
"This'll be the day that you die."

Fariah's dead who gave the clues,
So's Fedorin too who turned to booze,
And even Swann has gone away.
Returning to the coastal shore
When the Tardis landed days before
Salamander attempts a daring get away.
But things weren't quite as they had seemed,
And in a second, Salamander screamed.
The Tardis doors were opened
And Salamander's power was broken.
So he had failed in his proud boast.
His impersonation was, oh, so close.
Now the vortex will be his host
The day that Denes died.

So bye-bye to that Mexican guy,
Ever ready, nerves were steady with a glint in his eye.
Hungry for power, unconcerned with small fry,
Screaming, "This'll be the day that you die."
"This'll be the day that you die."

Bye-bye to that Mexican guy,
Ever ready, nerves were steady with a glint in his eye.
Hungry for power, unconcerned with small fry,
Screaming, "This'll be the day that you die."
