The Lyrics

A long ten years ago,
I can still remember
How the terrorists had made us cry.
But I knew if they had a chance,
Our troops could pierce their best defense
And, surely, they would see the evil die.

But years went by without a clue,
Where were they hid, nobody knew.
Perhaps in Bora Bora,
Karachi or Lahore.

But then at last there was a break,
The bad guys made a small mistake,
The spies now had what it would take,
To seal Osama's fate.

So bye-bye, to the Saudi bad guy.
Flew our drones into their zones,
But found the killers long gone.
Til spies got a clue and could pursue where it lead,
And the evil one was shot in the head,
Making sure Osama was dead.

Bin Laden wrote a tale of hate.
Jihad, he said, was Islam's fate,
In spite of what the Koran said.
To kill the Jews was his advise,
On how to get to paradise,
And infidels were better off dead.

While many shared his evil goal,
And helped drive up the deadly toll.
Most Moslems led a peaceful life.
Opposing Laden's ceaseless strrife.

But the best remained in passive silence,
While the worst engaged in senseless violence;
They all just stood aside,
Until Osama died.

So bye-bye, to the Saudi bad guy.
Flew our drones into their zones,
But found the killers long gone.
Til spies got a clue and could pursue where it lead,
And the evil one was shot in the head,
Making sure Osama was dead.

Now for ten years we’ve been fighting back,
To forestall terrorist attack,
But that’s not how it ought to be.
Al Quaeda brought the towers down,
Wrought death upon the Pentagon,
And caused the crash of air flight 93,

And while Americans in shock stood by,
They saw three thousand neighbors die,.
They stared in disbelief;
There was no quick relief.
But rage replaced fear before long;
Pursuit of justice for the wrong,
Americans all sang one song,
The guilty all must die.

So bye-bye, to the Saudi bad guy.
Flew our drones into their zones,
But found the killers long gone.
Til spies got a clue and could pursue where it lead,
And the evil one was shot in the head,
Making sure Osama was dead.

Helter skelter through snow and wind and swelter
The soldiers searched for Osama's shelter,
Two miles high deep in the ground.
They checked beneath each blade of grass.
From Peshawar to the Khyber pass,
But Bin Laden and his aides could not be found.

Though first he'd hid in Afghanistan,
He'd lomg since moved to Pakistan.
Where he had secret support,
To keep from getting caught.
The CIA and ISI;
Never did see eye to eye.
At the end they didn't even try,
The day Osama died.

So bye-bye, to the Saudi bad guy.
Flew our drones into their zones,
But found the killers long gone.
Til spies got a clue and could pursue where it lead,
And the evil one was shot in the head,
Making sure Osama was dead.

So then they found his hiding place,
'twas not a cave but compfy space
Behind stone walls but in plain sight.
So Navy Seals got the go ahead
To bring him in alive or dead;
Either way this was his final fight.

And as we watched the story break;
Some solace we could finally take,
That if all did go well,
The man'd be soon in hell.
And as the flames climbed high into the night,
The final note of the firefight,
Satan greeted Osama with delight,
The evil one had died.

So bye-bye, to the Saudi bad guy.
Flew our drones into their zones,
But found the killers long gone.
Til spies got a clue and could pursue where it lead,
And the evil one was shot in the head,
Making sure Osama was dead.

I met a grunt home from Iraq,
Who's living life out on his back,
And asked him was it worth the sacrifice.
He said he thought our cause was just,
That spreading freedom was a must,
But only wished it came with less a price.

And in the hills the fight goes on,
Our soldiers die; displaced natives gone.
The bombs and bullets never cease;
For thirty years there's been no peace.
But the man that wrought such infamy
Is now just part of history,
His body was disposed at sea.
Today Osama's dead.

So bye-bye, to the Saudi bad guy.
Flew our drones into their zones,
But found the killers long gone.
Til spies got a clue and could pursue where it lead,
And the evil one was shot in the head,
Making sure Osama was dead.

I salute you for doing justice to this wonderful song, and to the men who did justice to its subject. Very well written.

An exhaustive (and exhausting) history of the topic, and true to TOS. I'll forgive the typos and misspellings (strrife, Til, lead, compfy). 5s

It's a wonderful parody alright. Good detail and a very good emphasis of who the evil ones really are - none of this neanderthal "Muslims all bad, good for killing only" crap. However, when I saw the title I thought it was a parody of "The Night Chicago Died" by Paper Lace ; )

Superlative parody. Funny, liberals on this site didn't comment. Without Bush bashing or Obama praising they got nothing to say.

Sorry to disappoint, but I am a practicing Liberal.

That's a funny reply Richard, even if it wasn't intended to be funny. . . at any rate, I don't think Osama getting what he deserved is a liberal or conservative issue. . .so good commemorative parody
