"The Anti-gun Control Song"

Parody Written by:

The Lyrics

Down around the corner
'bout a half mile from here
You can stop a murder
but the key has disapeared

Without guns
Where would we be now
without guns

Well I saw this man a killing
someone who was black
I got my gun, fired rapidly
now he wont be comin' back

Without guns
Where would we be now
without guns

Well the Liberals in the Senate
think that guns are used as hate
so by lockin' up the triggers
the idea isnt great

Without guns
Where would we be now
without guns

Well the Liberals in the Senate
think that guns are used as hate
so by lockin' up the triggers
the idea isnt great

Without guns
Where would we be now
without guns

Well the bullets are a-loadin
but my trigger's lock is bound
And the steel parts are cold and hard
'cause it wont load a round

Without guns
Where would we be right now
without guns
Where would you be right now?

You're a brave man to touch gun-control. Personally, I'm for gun- control, so I won't vote on this parody. Pretty good pacing though.

That stupid jackass who votes 1/1/1 was here, so I offset it with a 5/5/5. Good pacing, good original song, and it's great to see that amiright.com has a politically level playing field.

I'm a liberal, but gun control is not the answer to violent crime. Good pacing 5/4/4. Great song choice. Sense of racial awareness.

Nice work. I enjoyed reading a parody about politics that wasn't penned by the hand of William Tong.

Jon... I got many about politics, most of them suck though...some good ones penned by me are, "Goodbye Clintons," "Loser '03," "Bill and Hillary down in the whitehouse," and "Movin out(Slick willies song)"

Trigger locks should only be used for displayed guns. If you've got an emergency gun, though, you'd better as hell hope that it's not locked up and you can't find the key.

i think that gun control is stupid. yes i own quite a few guns but i don't go around shooting people. john harvey, you probably haven't ever even owned a gun. the song was great

You're right. I have never owned a gun and I have never felt the need to. To each his own. Believe what you want and let me believe what I want.

Michael, are most people expert sharpshooters? if someone's trying to beat someone else to death and you shoot then there's a good chance you'll hit the wrong person or an innocent bystander. And how is the average gun owning american supposed to tell if its attempted murder. It could be anything from assault to someone forcefully detaining someone who was trying to escape after committing armed robbery. And if you shoot someone who you can't prove was trying to commit a murder, then you'll either get sued for a lot of money or end up in jail. Without guns there probably would have been little to no colonization by Europeans and the world would be a lot different - probably wouldn't be enough racial coexistence for there to be racism like we have today. I don't know how much of the technological advancements that the world has today would have come about if not for guns but that really shouldn't matter. What matters is that there are no more native americans that might burn down your village if theyre not subdued with gunfire or any other sort of similar threat. The reason for the second amendment was to protect european americans against native americans who believed that the europeans were on their land. With the native american people subdued (refer to my parody of in the end entitled ¨indians¨) the second amendment and the civilian ownership of non-hunting weapons are both outdated. It would be nice if there were phasers like in star trek but just with the stun setting. But since we don't have those i think the best self defense is not offending violent people and not walking around dangerous neighborhoods wearing or carrying anything valuable. Also, learning to fight or run probably would be a good idea.

America is full of fear. Why must you have weapons? Violence is not the answer. Canadians are too smart to fight, to smart to kill.
Mike Florio - September 28, 2003 - Report this comment
Why must I have weapons? Well the world isn't a happy place where everyone is concerned for the well being and life of others, nope, far from it. There are some really violent people out there, and they've weapons of their own. Anything could be a weapon, a friggin rock could be used as a weapon. A gun for the safety of your house and the safety of your family is correct thinking, hell, if theres someone in my house, Id be happy to have my gun as protection incase they were to try something.

Texas has had it's share of mass murders, the last one in Killeen, that took out about 20 people in a Luby's restaurant that was done with a handgun. Shortly thereafter Texas passed a law allowing citizens to carry concealed weapons but only after taking classes and getting a valid license to carry them. The classes teach you how to use the weapon as a defensive measure so that answers that point by Tone Def about expert marksman. You don't have to be a marksman to save yourself or someone else. You just need to know the proper way to do it and this teaches that. Violent crime has gone way down in Texas since this law was passed because the bad guys have no idea who may be carrying heat. Who knows, this law may have already saved my life. And I know you have all heard this before but it rings so ture - "When guns are outlawed, only outlaws will have guns."

Personally I'd rely on a gun in my home simply because I could be way dead before I were ever able to dial 911, let alone wait for help from the police to arrive in time.

And I'm surprised about you liberal lefties concerning this. If you banned guns then who would have them? The fascist righties. What happened in Nazi Germany when only the government had guns?
