"Grandpa Got Killed By A Commie"

Parody Written by:

The Lyrics

Grandpa got killed by a commie,
Fighting in Vietnam for our country
You can say we belonged there
But as for me and grandma we disagree.

He’d been drinking too much vodka
So he passed out near a well
The Viet Cong killed his comrades
Then went to work on him as well

When they found him in the morning
At the scene of the attack
He had guts coming out of his forehead
And anti-America slogans on his back

Grandpa got killed by a commie,
Fighting in Vietnam for our country
You can say we belonged there
But as for me and grandma we disagree.

We are all sad at my house
July 4th will never be the same
He would make the best fireworks
And people from all over the country came

It’s not July 4th without grandpa
The entire town is dressed in black
But we can’t help but wonder
Should we open his fireworks or send them back?

Grandpa got killed by a commie,
Fighting in Vietnam for our country
You can say we belonged there
But as for me and grandma we disagree

Now his gun is on the mantle
Along with the explosives he held dear
But as for his old gym socks being thrown out
No one even shed so much as a tear.

Now I’ve been warning all the young’uns
From Boston all the way to Taft
You better count yourselves lucky
That you aren’t caught up in any draft

Grandpa got killed by a commie,
Fighting in Vietnam for our country
You can say we belonged there
But as for me and grandma we disagree!
i just hope its ok with elmo, but other wise the lyrics belong to me.

Hilarious take on a classic funny Christmas song!

A few problems with the timing but overall a good job of execution (no pun intended)

I was thinking that this parody's subject was the Russians or maybe the Cubans, Chinese or North Koreans, but none of them killed as many people as the Vietcong. This is a pretty good first-time effort, although I detected a few missing syllables here and there. 3-5-5.

The pacing is utterly wretched, you do know what a syllable is, I pray? Having said that, the concept was good and I found it to be mildly amusing. Not a bad effort overall. Paula?
