The Lyrics

This is a better version. I tried to get it in quick on Friday. i cleaned some things up since.(I'll have the early one removed) He wouldn't pull the plug, but......

My Grandma got unplugged by Obama
Shocking us, did not want her to leave.
The Pres says we have such better healthcare,
Ask us for our opinions, they deceive.

We'd just said happy birthday Grandma,
She lived her age with such a glow.
New plan read no medication,
But they advised her of ways that she can "go".

When we read her death that mornin',
The Czar said it's self attack.
She pulled the plug on her sick bed,
That's incriminatin', so don't blame Barack.

My Grandma got unplugged by Obama,
Livin' past her age the White House believes.
Their care on life is based on your age gap,
And as for all the others, you will grieve.

Now I start to tell my Grandpa,
Horde your pills that keep you well.
Czars are just waiting when you call,
Advise to just pull the plug and go to hell.

It's bad healthcare by Obama,
Every week I'm dressed in black.
As our health choice was just plundered:
I worry at what age my life will be sacked.

My Grandma got unplugged by Obama,
Choices made from White House caused our grief.
I would pray to God to bless my Nana,
But they just outlawed me for my beliefs.

Now the Czars say I'm not able,
And my life plan is just rigged.
Any day now light some candles,
For your Gramps will soon be gone so learn to dig.

Czars flagged me for my behavior,
"Straighten up and watch yourself."
Your votes have given us a license,
To act God like, shut up now or you'll be shelved.

Grandpa's gone uplugged now by Obama,
Drownin' lone in his house, news perceived.
Told me it was his time to join Grandma,
I have no say in country, I just grieve.....

I personally believe that the idea of Obama putting elderly and/or terminally ill people to their death may be true, as in your parody here. At last my neo-Nazi neighbors said something that might be at least a little bit true! 5s to you.
Mark Scotti - August 17, 2009 - Report this comment
Thanks, Andria. I hope to gosh it doesn't ever get to there! I have a diabetic son that i am petrified for, as he grows older...

5's again for you, Mark. Perhaps your grandma knows Harold from my parody today.

Sure glad I made all the unhealthy choices in life, so I won't have to face these grim prospects...555!!!

this Title is a riot, Sir ! . . . I'll be "unPlugged" for a week; . . . Oh, how I shall truly miss the Wild & Crazy Gents oParody . . .
Rafeal De La Ghetto - August 17, 2009 - Report this comment
I have mixed views on this. Yes, all presidents have made their share of mistakes, but I agree with Andria here. I am not sure what my vote will be, but I will place it when I am ready. The pacing category, however, will receive a 5.
Patrick - August 17, 2009 - Report this comment
Outstanding parody. When government denies something, you know what they are planning. It's bad enough to contemplate England or Canada, when you're talking health care. But this sounds more like the Netherlands.
adagio - August 17, 2009 - Report this comment
Very good parody!

Healthy thanks to you, Timmy! I read yours, and it is ABSOLUTELY OUTSTANDING! An "unhealthy" epic of "Czarlike" proportions! More coverage of thanks to you, Leo! LittleMS, thank you kindly! Rafeal, thank you for the votes. We all do hope for the best. Hopefully NOT six feet under thanks to you, Patrick! Thanks, adiagio!

I'm on the other side of the net, but nothing wrong with a little healthy and humorous political spoofing..fine job

Thanks, AFW! I do the same. I rate parodies on creativity. Appreciate it!!

If Obamacare passes, Michelle's mom moves from the White House to the charnel house--or so some would have you believe.
Christie Marie M - August 17, 2009 - Report this comment
I've heard about Obama's health care plan. I concur with Andria about Obama putting the elderly people to their death. That's not right. Why would he do that?! 'Cuz the world's overpopulated? To save the economy? (I was only wondering to myself out loud with those questions). Anyways, I still love how you put the humor on this political parody. I enjoyed it anyways. 5's!
Mark Scotti - August 17, 2009 - Report this comment
Safe healthcare for EVERYONE, and great thanks to you, John & Christie!!!!
DJ Blaze - August 17, 2009 - Report this comment
Obama's healthcare plans appear to be a poplar subject here, and especially with you, Mark! As usual, you've done a great political farce here. I wish you 5s and good healthcare for the rest of your life.

Thanks DJ! As a father of 4, it weighs a LOT on my mind. Thanks, Andy! What, no Steely entry today??? LOL

What a great twist on the OS... too funny... and in this send-up's scenario, I actually *could* die laughing!

Bash Obama: as parodic bashin' falls like rain
Biden's indiscreet
Barack's defeat
In year 2012 is looking plain!

Bash Obama! Ev'ry night my honey-lamb and I [1]
Hear those morons squawk
Of health care talk
And we know those jerks'll let us die!

They know that they're now in command

And they'll screw us much as we can stand

And when we say,
Owwwww! OMG, WTHehy?
At town hall meetin's
Time to resign, B'rack Obama,
B'rack Obama, go 'way!

(that's turtilian for: great parody, 555. )

[1] Very thoughtful of Oscar Hammerstein II to have given TT the "lamb" hook!

I thank you for the prose, praising how my parody goes! Thanks, TT!
Blaydeman - December 15, 2010 - Report this comment
As for as politics go, I'm not the most knowledgable person, but if what you say is true then that's terrible! Way to take an off-beat OS and turn it into a funny political spoof. 555
Mark Scotti - December 15, 2010 - Report this comment
Thanks, Blaydeman! The real scary thing is nobody knows all the details of this health plan. One part of it that I heard was in the case of the elderly, they're course of treatment has to be reviewed as necessary in orgder to be approved.
Matthias - December 15, 2010 - Report this comment
I'm not exactly big on politics so this one was a bit lost on me. It was kinda strange to turn such a funny novelty Christmas song into something so morbid as losing grandma due to Obama's health care plan.
Agrimorfee - December 16, 2010 - Report this comment
Sorry Mark I just can't agree with the politics of this parody. I do try to distance that in contest judging, but to the point here I didn't find it all that funny, and the pacing at times was questionable.
Abbott Skelding - December 16, 2010 - Report this comment
XMAS- Not a huge fan of political parodies, but this song went really well with the original and there were some excellent lines in there. Great work!
Mark Scotti - December 17, 2010 - Report this comment
Thanks Matthias & Agri. The song made for good spoofing(and that's what parodys are all about, usually quite the opposite of the OS's theme.) Thanks Abbott! you see the humor!!!
Ann Hammond - December 20, 2010 - Report this comment
xmas- not a political parodist, but I see the humor and I can sing the whole thing so it must be well paced 555

Below Average Dave - December 23, 2010 - Report this comment
I'm with Agri--this sound like rhetoric passed by Sarah--I'm not a big fan of Obamacare-but the belief that it will lead to people being denied life because of their age--that's not true--and its not really Christmas either, I'm sorry, I just can't get into this one:(
Mark Scotti - December 23, 2010 - Report this comment
That's OK, Dave. It wasn't meant to please everyone, but I though it was clever prose.
Jeff Reuben - December 27, 2010 - Report this comment
It does sound like rhetoric passed by Sarah, but I thought it was funny when she said it too. This was a clever, humorous take on the issue, and enjoyed it.
Mark Scotti - December 27, 2010 - Report this comment
Thanks, Jeff, I liked syncing the prose to the issue. It seemed the the 'funny" thing to do...
