The Lyrics
For those of you who don't know, an M-4 Sherman is a WW2 American tank (not to be confused with the M-4 carbine). And no, Hitler didn't actually get run over by one. Rather, he committed suicide in his bunker on April 30, 1945. I just wrote this parody because I got the OS stuck in my head & this is the first parody idea that came to my mind. Enjoy the parody.
Hitler got run over by a Sherman,
While he was a-fightin' World War Two.
He thought the Americans were stupid,
But he had no idea what we could do.
He'd been losing many battles,
Took things into his own hands.
But he forgot about the armor,
When he left his bunker for the outside land.
When we found him Tuesday morning,(1)
'Twas a gory sight, alack!
A Sherman tank had crushed that guy,
And left some obvious tank tracks on his back.
Hitler got run over by a Sherman,
While he was a-fightin' World War Two.
He thought the Americans were stupid,
But he had no idea what we could do.
We're proud of the guy who did it,
He sent Hitler straight to hell.
Soon, he's gonna get a medal,
We won't forget the day that Hitler fell.
The war's over without Hitler,
All the Nazis surrendered.
And when the news got overseas,
The president was happy at what he’d heard.
Hitler got run over by a Sherman,
While he was a-fightin' World War Two.
He thought the Americans were stupid,
But he had no idea what we could do.
Now they’re having parades back home,
And it looks like we’re all set.
But the Japanese are still up,(2)
So it looks like World War 2’s not over yet.
