The Lyrics

This is spur-of-the-moment, completely random and new... please vote! Also, I'm a Republican... :-D
Kerry wears Purple Hearts with such pride
We call his wife ketchup
Cuz we like her name
And she yells at all the loud men on our side
Kerry, Kerry likes his sponsors
Give him a lot, they say
Spends his days spending
On promotions that don't work anyway
He entered the presidential race on that fateful day
When the New York Times said "Reagan's dead,
And the war's still on.
John Kerry entered the race today."
And he shall be Lib'ral
And he shall be a loser
And he shall be Kerry
In tradition with the campaign plan
And he shall be Lib'ral
And he shall be a loser
He shall be Kerry
Kerry sells flipflops to fool us all
He's only somewhat true
Dubya offers tax cuts all day
Sits in his chair watching them work
And Dubya, he wants to go for two terms
Leaving Kerry far behind
Take up the oath and go fighting
While Kerry, Kerry just loses
He entered the presidential race on that fateful day
When the New York Times said "Reagan's dead,
And the war's still on.
John Kerry entered the race today."
And he shall be Lib'ral
And he shall be a loser
And he shall be Kerry
In tradition with the campaign plan
And he shall be Lib'ral
And he shall be a loser
He shall be Kerry
And he shall be Lib'ral
And he shall be a loser
And he shall be Kerry
In tradition with the campaign plan
And he shall be Lib'ral
And he shall be a loser
He shall be Kerry

I'm an Independent, so I enjoy parodies that trash either side! Great job, Ash! 5's

Your hopes shall be ash, as John Kerry will be freely elected the 44th President of the United States.

A little rough around the edges, but not too bad!

SOTM - I too missed this one and I usually like to look at all parodies of political nature since I have been known to speak out in verse myself on occassion. I'm thinking that this was not an easy song to parody and for that, even though as Merry says, its "a little rough around the edges", the states of parody and satire commit all 555 delegates in support. FIne job Ash.

(SOTM AUG) I'm an equal opportunity sucker-puncher of the left and the right.....and this parody was a right to the left!

(SOTM) DKTOS. but reads good.

(SOTM) It was OK, but I'm not exactly the target audience for this parody so won't vote on it.

SOTM--I don't know the original...sorry! I'll see if I can find it...

Will this make any sense in a year?

(SOTM) Very interesting one, quite good. I'm all for bashing both parties- neither are very good.

(Aug 04, SOTM) I could have sworn I voted here already. Not my favorite this month, too political.
Aaerni - September 18, 2004 - Report this comment
No offense, Ash, but I'm a Democrat, and if I were old enough to vote, I'd vote for Kerry. I hate Bush!
Spaff.com - September 19, 2004 - Report this comment
Thanks for pointing out in the preface that you're a Republican - never woulda guessed. Heh heh. If you don't mind a bit of constructive criticism, "Kerry" and "Levon" aren't accented quite the same; that would be OK if it were just one line, but since it's the title and key refrain, the substitution seems a bit forced. If you look around a bit, I'll bet you can find another song or two where "Kerry" will fit in nicely, and then you can bash away with abandon.

It's OK, I guess... not exactly funny, even if you're not a Democrat

(SOTM) I can't make up my mind about this one, but I don't think a political parody is the best choice for SOTM, or maybe it is...
Peregrin - September 30, 2004 - Report this comment
It's OK, Ash

(SOTM) I liked it better this time around. :-)

(AUG SOTM) Sorry, Ash, not voting here. Bad timing, the first debate is tonight and I can't even LOOK at George Bush without getting pissed off, so unless Kerry whips off a plastic mask and turns out to be Osama bin Laden or Charles Manson I'm voting for him...and even if he WERE one of them, I wouldn't be voting for Bush...

I can tell you're young so I'll say not bad. But if Spaff gives you advice, you should definitely listen (unless it involves glue).

I'll third the 'rough around the edges' comment, but the original was hard, so I'll leave it at pretty good.
