The Lyrics

This song is in memoriam of the Routemaster bus, though I never rode it but always meant to.For clarifiacation purposes, AEC was the company that built the Routemasters, and Brixton Depot was the main depot for the Routemasters.
Goodbye Routemaster
Though I never knew you at all
You had the power to stay around
While those around you crawled
They crawled out of Brixton Depot
And they whispered to Livingstone
They set you on the chopping block
And they made you change your ways

And it seems to me you lived your life
Like a good friend in the rain
Always there to hop on to
When the rain set in
And I would have liked to have known you
But I was never there
Your engine turned off long before
Your legend ever did

Your rear platform was great
When people were late for work
AEC created a superstar
And you were much faster
Even when you died
Oh the people still loved you
They will miss the conductor
And the dinging of the bell

And it seems to me you lived your life
Like a good friend in the rain
Always there to hop on to
When the rain set in
And I would have liked to have known you
But I was never there
Your engine turned off long before
Your legend ever did

Goodbye Routemaster
The law for the disabled
Put an end to you,
while the bendy-buses rolled in

Goodbye routemaster
From the young man in the back of the bus
Who sees you as something more than obsolete
More than just a dear old bus

Yes, it's the Bus Woman, again. All you Web Users know how much I love the Routemaster, by now. I think this is a great parody. We need to write more parodies about the Routemaster and shove them in the Faces of Ken Livingstone and TFL. The more, the better! The Routemaster should have stayed on their rightful routes, and I pray, every night, that they are put back on their rightful routes. I will keep on typing, until they are.
