Parody Written by:

The Lyrics

I read the papers one day
Far East was on the headlines
Koreas are on the verge of new war
and their border is full of mines
But the throne in north North is now open
as gone is now Kim Jong Il -
They said he died from exhaustion
while booze is more likely to have caused the kill

So goodbye tyrant called Kim
You caused your society's ruin
You were just another those tinpot dictators
You'll be shoveling coals so soon
Your nation is poor as a church mouse
your underlings starve and they crave
Your subjects are hungry and they live in squalor
You've finally hit the grave

Goose-stepping soldiers you had plenty
and you strived for atomic bomb
You were a threat to the world peace
you did murder and arrange pogrom
But your days of terror are over
and finished your earthly race
Hope you'll have fun with the Devil
as Hell will be certainly your final place

So goodbye tyrant called Kim
Your dynasty's bound to be done
You were just another those tinpot dictators
We all are so happy you're gone
Your Communist crones are now ailing
your country will crack and fall
your people has simply had enough with your terror
You know whom the bell will toll

I remember Elton John singing this as a tribute to Princess Diana. Then her brother's touching eulogy. You have created a fitting song to remember one of those the Earl of Spencer would have referred to as being "on the opposite end of the moral spectrum".

Good anti-tribute

And with the generals being his real successor, Kim Jong Un will soon be singing, "This boy's too young to be singing the blues." Patrick: You're thinking of "Candle in the Wind," which, oddly enough, was the B-side to this record in 1973.

It's been a few years since I've listened to the songs. Both are farewells. Easy for my old brain to confuse.
