The Lyrics

OS: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QjUk3Bp16zs
Hey kids, don't be wearing leather
Your crotch might get to rubbing, and you'll turn into a sweater
You'll feel the fabric's much too tight when you sit down
You're gonna hear the sweat drips oozing as you walk around

Suave dandies and foppies, you can see them sweat
Ooh, 'cause they're so chafed out
S-s-s-s-s-s-s-sweaty as it gets
Oh, and their rears are uncomfort'ble
So sweaty in their squeaky jeans

They cause frenetic hoots and horn-blare toots
You know the leather is a tragic scene, oh-ho-oh!
S-s-s-sweaty as it gets!

Hey kids, wearin' hide is tasteless
Aching from binding, and sweating causin' great stress
Clean air deprived, sweating makes you smell too strong
Scary plight's apparent, shouts from the freaks
Whose minds spew fright and rude songs

Your daddy and mommy, have they seen you yet
Clothed in your glow-glazed trou'?
S-s-s-s-s-s-s-sweaty as it gets
Though what you wear may be colorful
So fretting, they'd be really peeved

You'd hear collective boos and don't-wear views
'Cause, lo, you're dressing in some pants that gleam, oh-ho-ho!
S-s-s-sweaty as it gets!

Oh, randy and raunchy as the seamy set
Oh and there's no great doubt
S-s-s-s-s-s-s-sweaty as it gets
Oh, and the air is unbearable
So sweaty that ya seem unclean

You waft some wretched fumes, a mold-scare looms
You know the leather makes us wanna scream, oh-ho-oh!
S-s-s-sweaty as it gets!

Sweaty, sweaty as it gets!
Sweaty, sweaty, sweaty, sweaty as it gets!

Don't know the original song for this one, but this is a great skewering on a commonplace material. Much more focused and descriptive than my take on the topic (this is the_conqueror_of_parodies, BTW, long story behind the different name), mostly because yours was on leather in general than my more narrow version. 555!

Knowing the song makes it so much funnier, because it fits so well, possibly unlike some of the leatherwear that has to be vaselined or and crowbarred off! I liked this, Leough.

Nice companion piece to "Gross Spiders."

:-) Very funny..my only complaint would be that leather's pretty much the best material for absorbing sweat (which is why leather shoes are so much better than plastic ones - a good bit of veg tanned leather will absorb nearly half its weight in water before showing signs of dampness).. have I mentioned doing two years postgrad research in leather?

Thanks, folks!
@TCOP: Props to you for reacting in an upbeat manner to my faux pas. I knew that the_conqueror_of_parodies and bobpiecheese were one and the same from participating in the ABC competition way back when I was posting as Leo Keough. However, I still don't know the story behind the bobpiecheese moniker.
@Phil: Yeah, I had a gnawing feeling while writing this that there was some weakness to my premise. I even did some research and learned about things like the Hohenstein (Ret) test. But in the end, I just couldn't resist the concept of Elton John admonishing people who wear leather slacks.

Pretty funny and good use of the original. Leather can be of use - I remember a friend from years ago who got some leather pants and was strutting around a bunch. Then, he rolled over his motorcycle and they probably kept him from awful scrapes.

tough to come up with a witty pun for this one you might say... "puts on sunglasses" tough as leather! YEEAAA! 5's

Well done all round. Great title switch. Reminded me of the Friends episode with Ross & the leather trousers.

Been away from the site for a couple of days, but anything you write is worth reading. Did some historic reenacting at one time, so I am familiar with wearing wool trousers on hot days. That's why "long handles" were so popular in Great-grandad's day.
