The Lyrics
This is a remake of the first parody I have submitted to this site. My parodies were not the best. I have seen room for improvement in all my parodies. This parody was inspired by a traffic jam I suffered in Winter 2024. The highway was closed and the traffic was horrible. We spent an hour in that traffic. I chose this song to parody because this song annoys me. This song annoys me because when my parents and I went to an Elton John concert in 2015, when Elton John performed this song, he made the entire audience sing the "Laaaaaa, la-la-la-la-laaaaaa, la-la-la-la-laaaaaa, la-la-la-la-laaaaaaa" part. I hated it and yelled "Elton! Stop making my parents sing!" In this version, the updated version, I changed it to screaming the text in all-caps. The screaming represents the fact that we can't take traffic anymore and want to move faster. It must NEVER be sung. It must be screamed in my parody. I hope you enjoy.

The "cars stalled now block all light," just before the yelling post-chorus is metaphorical for the fact that I feel hopeless in traffic.
