The Lyrics

Goodbye not just to Amiright! Sometimes Chairman Elton John, to Vicarage Road, home of the 'Hornets': Watford FC, Hertfordshire: a leafy 'Home County' (bordering London). Includes references to Graham Taylor (legendary manager), obvious Wizard of Oz refs, & a frivolous ref to my own appearance: an unused sub in a 1988 Herts Senior Cup Final, my opposite number being David 'Calamity' James!
What goes up's gonna go down
Heard once, "do I not like that"
A fantasy L. Frank Baum
A little twinkle toed, to a man

Yellows, you can't have me forever
I didn't just sign for you
The brain's decisions with a heart of courage
A boy, so young & was feeling ...confused, ah, ah

So goodbye Vicarage Road
Stirred enough of a hornet's nest up
Seen lions, tin men & scarecrows
& Dorothy, she's a friend

Straight outta leafy home county
Ever a story's been told
Oh, I've finally decided my future lies
Beyond Vicarage Road, ah, ah

Some pseudonyms are well known
(Elton, Alice Cooper, Edge)
If you wanna know how much you can sell your car for
Your spouse can enter in his Reg

Real name once lit up their scoreboard
Calamity 'keepers in town
Sand was, in all but the corners
So much so, the tide had gone out ...of the ground! ah, ah

So goodbye Vicarage Road
Stirred enough of a hornet's nest up
Seen lions, tin men & scarecrows
& Dorothy, she's a friend

Straight outta leafy home county
Ever a story's been told
Oh, I've finally decided my future lies
Beyond Vicarage Road, ah, ah
(27.2.25) Van S A'Parody ...(Disclaimer: it's a comedy name only. I'd like to state, there's no offence/confusion intended that I'm not one of "them"!) ...From 2018-22, the UK music buying public made their 5th consecutive Xmas #1 a parody 'artist' (now a record, surpassing the Beatles). Often, a new artist can announce their arrival with a particularly good cover, made uniquely their own. If you can perform this (or any of mine) please send me a link/email: van.s.a.parody@gmail.com & lots of royalties!
