The Lyrics

Two weeks ago, I caught a magnificent live performance of the musical Ain't Misbehavin'. I was not only blown away by the show but also by the amount of classic standard songs composed by Thomas "Fats" Waller. Sooo...from time to time, I'm going to present parodies of Waller's songs loosely connected under the revue title I'm Misbehavin'. It won't be as cohesive or organized as carly's take on Tommy or the FG/TT version of My Fair Lady, but like the original show, it will be a loose collection of diverse songs. As Fats himself always said, "One never knows, does one"! .;D

Make sure you always broil a ribeye.
It's a sin to fry a steak!
Not even cooks in the Navy
Bread them and pour on white gray.
Lesser cuts like the butts are fine, guy.
For filet mignon - mistake!
You can use your grill
But what e'er you will -
It's a sin to fry a steak!

For a strip heed the my tip this hour
It's a sin to fry a steak!
Beef that's inspected and scored prime
Never should be fried - that's war crime!
Porterhouse tastes like mouse in flour,
At the very thought I shake.
'Though I can abide chicken "country - fried"
It's a sin to fry a steak!

I guess you can say I really have a "beef" today!

Anyways, you just trimmed the "fats" out of this one! It's definitely a sin to fry a steak! Don't want to make it as rich and fattening as it is. Great as always, OMR. Here's some nice and juicy Grade A Top Choice 5's!

That's ok, 2Eagle. I don't eat Chevrolet cars from the 70's. I'm a (groan) Chevy Vegan! ;D

I agree that steak's best broiled or grilled unless country-fried. Great parody, and 5s FTW. Chevy Vega? I owned one briefly, and there was nothing likable about it except for gas mileage. Feel free to eat them, just leave the vintage Fiats, Renaults and BMWs alone. ;-)
