The Lyrics

With Super Bowl coming up I thought I'd bring out another parody about streaking for you Americans to enjoy. The original song is from Flash & The Pan's 1978 self-titled first album and currently it's unfortunately not to be found on the internet (I only have it on cassette myself). The best substitute I can find at the moment is a musically crappy cover where the singer's intonation is really quite different in way too many places, but unless you're already familiar with the OS you'll have to do with that.

There he was in front row game seat
Slurped a can of ale
Took a sec to run on out
All his cloth unveiled
Flashed his hairy booty
As players chased him 'round
Not-Safe-For-Work so they just
Closed the live feed down

Rear end's getting famous, of this fast man unknown
Referee's quite impressed o' glutes muscle tone
Didn't have a number, no-one knew his name
A fan without his trousers, he ran into the game

Well he ducked the smaller players
And he jumped the oversized
Loft the ball to Beijing
To our hue and cry
Then this streaking smarty
He escaped the dome
Climbed a safety ladder
Made it out unknown

But one playoff evening as the tension cut the grass
Came his second onset and handed us his ass
The grand stand dropped their wieners, the coaches were ashamed
Cos that fan without his trousers, he had an ass fast game

Very clever to use "Flash" and the Pan (wern't they a one hit wonder with "Driver's Seat"?)

Great parody. 5s all around.

DKTOS (of course), but working in NSFW was a nice nod to current slang in this decades-old tradition. 555 salutes to your Peter. xD

btw, did you know that you can make direct hyperlinks (blue, underlined), in the intro and outro? Copy this somewhere and save it::

[a href="http://xcom"]Site[/a]
Substitute the angle brackets for the square ones. ("less than" for [ ..... "greater than" for ]
Paste the link over the http--- .com, being sure to keep the quote marks around it.
Paste or type the actual text you want the reader to see, where I have "Site". Like so:

[a href="http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MNKP7yfrXOY"]Video here[/a].
... remembering to use the angle brackets. (This comment box strips out angle brackets automatically.)

The Parody Submission page is a good sandbox to try this out. You don't have to submit anything, just put your link in any of the boxes and click Preview. Click your link. If it takes you where you want to go, it's good. Delete, or just close the Sub box, without sending, of course!

We've been asked not to put *off-site* links (outside AIR) in the parody itself, but links to your own or others' parodies are good for the site's business (page view stats for ads), which is how TT gets away with shameless plugs for his other parodies in an existing one. At least "gets allowed". What readers think is a different matter, LOL.

Rumor recently had it that streaking was making somewhat of a comeback. I certainly hope not, although parodies like this one should always be in fashion! :) 555

Mark: Glad you noticed! ;-) Don't know the song you mention though.

Brian: Thanks!

Tommy: Thanks! I'll give it one more try, with such detailed instructions, how could I fail?

Fiddlegirl: Birthday suits have never been out of fashion, so says my colleagues at the maternity ward...

I agree with Mark. I'm not familiar with this song but I remember "Waiting For A Train" in the UK charts.
