Original Performer:

Parody Song Title:

"Angry Rhesus"

Parody Written by:

Blaydeman

The Lyrics

for those that don't know, a rhesus macaque is one of the best known and most widely spread of all Old World Monkey. Some tribes even survive in certain parts of the US. And they make a pretty tasty snack. (Zappa is weird, and weird parodies arise from weird OS's)
Verse 1: Wow!
That macaque jacked my chow
He just thieved us
Angry rhesus
I brought my lunch to this expo (yes, I did)
Who knew macaques liked jellied toast?
He ate all of my bread
So I’ll have him instead
With some Chianti, I suppose
That’ll teach them to dine when I host
I’m the host!

[Rhesus guitar solo]

Verse 2: Let’s have a roast!
Or fry them, what say?
Sign says “Don’t feed us”
Yummy rhesus
I can’t wait ‘til the next riverboat
I’ll shop for my lunch while we float
I’ll take a bite of RHESUS MACAQUES!
Payback’s be done
Let’s stop this little crusade
‘Fore all macaques are gone
And seal this edict up with a song
That’s this song…
If this war heats up
I’ll be munching the rhesus off the Earth
In a stew…
I am now officially extremely weird. Wow, Blayde, you went Weird and you went GOOD! This reads exactly like something Zappa would have done...he often said that most of his lyrics are inconsequential and not to be taken at all seriously. You nailed that same "who gives a f**** anyway?" attitude here--probably out of frustration. But I loved it.

Nice work, as always Blaydeman. Not too many rhymes for Remus, and you came up with a good one for a parody. It's a shame this song isn't as long as some of his others.

Quit monkeying around and get back to work! This one was a hoot and a holler!

(Artistry) Well, if you can't beat 'em, eat 'em, I guess. Great parody here, short but sweet (or however monkey tastes). 555!

Not sure what to say about this one, I take it it was written for the Zappa competition, didn't really do it for me out of that very special context.

Short, but.. hmm, not exactly "sweet". More savoury..
