The Lyrics

I have come to the park again
root for the Three Rivers team.
Stargell takes away my worries of the day
and leaves the Phillies behind.

Whoa-hoh, Three Rivers, I believe we can win the game tonight.
Whoa-hoh, Three Rivers, I believe that our Fam-a-lee is tight.

Clemente watches from the skies
down from an astral plane.
Smack the ball with intensity
help the Pirates win again.

Whoa-hoh, Three Rivers, I believe we can win the game tonight.
Whoa-hoh, Three Rivers, I believe that our Fam-a-lee is tight.

A return may be coming soon
to that glorious time.
Fly me away to the Monongahela
here in the Steel City of mine.

Whoa-hoh, Three Rivers, I believe we can win the game tonight.
Whoa-hoh, Three Rivers, I believe that our Fam-a-lee is tight.

Great one Mike. Loved the song but not familiar with the teams though. Keep on truckin'

I grew up eight miles from that old Monongahela and used to live three blocks from the old Forbes Field when I was a student. Used to sell the parking spaces in front of the apartment and buy a bleacher ticket. We would get 3 or 4 of us into the game by putting the stub in a paper bag and dropping it to the next guy until we all got in. I remember seeing Stargell put one over the right field roof half way to downtown and Roberto Clemente running to the opposite field to snag a ball with a behind the back catch and then throwing a strike from near the wall to nail a base runner tagging up.

Then they built 3 rivers and something was just not the same anymore. Now that is gone too and in it's place is Heinz Stadium. Haven't been back that way to see the new stadium though.

Nice parody Michael. You brought back a lot of memories.

I think the new baseball stadium in Pittsburgh is called PNC Park (Heinz Field is for football only). I could be mistaken though...

Bubba - I think you may be correct. PNC is the name of the park. Been too long since I was in that area. Thanks for the correction.
