"Never Can Say I'm Right"

Parody Written by:

The Lyrics

of course, this is entirely fictitious - humility is one of my greatest strengths
You never CAN say I'm right
no, no, no, you
You never CAN say I'm right

Every time you take me driving and
you slip it into fourth
there's a very strange vibration
rumbling underneathe the floor
I say "Turn around, my darling, that'll BE the engine core"
but you say...
y'don't think so......
you don't wanna know!
hey! you never can say I'm right girl
ooh ooh
baby
you never can say I'm right

no!
no!
no!
hey!

You never CAN say I'm right
...hoh no, you
You never CAN say I'm right

I keep thinking soon you'll realise
the perfection that I am
But there's that strange unhappy feeling
that you've chosen the wrong man
It's that same old ditzy hang-up
y'can't admit how right I am
tell me why
you don't know
you DON'T wanna let me go...

Hey! you shouldn't have said goodbye girl
ooh hoo
baby
you shouldn't have let me go
no no no
no no no
no no no

hey, you gotta admit I'm right girl
ooh hoo
baby
you shouldn't have let me go
no no no
no no no
no no no

I really wish I knew the original. You're never going to convince me of your perfection, Stuart, if you continually use obscure songs that only you...oh wait...that only you and alvin know.

"She will be mine. Oh yes - she WILL be mine."

What Arwen said... minus that big, long second sentance. Sorry, bro. At some point when I get me some free time and energy, I'll browse your songs list for stuff I do know. 'Happy Holidays' in the interest of being politically correct.

Thanks 2nz, and belatedly, alvin - I am flabbergasted! - that was the biggest 70s disco song hit of all time - that and "I Will Survive" - both Gloria Gaynor...ah well, clearly I'm the one who's out of step

you have a good holiday too, 2nz, altho I don't think you Americans take this time as holidays, do you?
2nz - December 27, 2004 - Report this comment
Sure it's holidays here. For us Christians the time around Christmas/New Years is a holiday. We buy things like fools but that's apparently what holidays are for here

Excellent parody Stuart...a perfect encapsulation of what we guys have to struggle with.555...ps I am also FLABBERGASTED that the americans don't know this one. Number 1 in 1973 (in the US) the first recognised "disco" record to do so...and by a grammy award winning AMERICAN performer. OBSCURE?? I think not.......Jeez, it must be hard being famous in america; people forget so quickly...

Hmmm...I DKTOS either. I even looked it up! But you're right Stu - you'll never be right. ; )

(luckily I have Kristof supporting me, because I'd be too scared to stand up to your majesty otherwise)
BUT!....if that song suddenly came on the radio, you'd be outta the car and gyrating to its funky rhythms on the freeway before it reached the first chorus - THAT's how well you know that song....

and now I'm leaving and slamming the door

Hel...LO?

WTF with the bastards who don't know this song? (Although truthfully, I can only remember the Michael Jackson/Jackson Five version.) What -- were you people all born in the 80's or something?

Anyhoo, fine job Stuart.
