The Lyrics

This one is a little weird. I blame the fact that I'm in the hospital with Guillain–Barré syndrome.
Drivin' in my Prius and the road's rather clean
I wonder where the feck are they tonight?
No minivans, no fancy Saabs, not even a bike, say
I can't see a single doggie poo

Empty highway, there's nothin' drivin' on you
Empty highway, you've seen better days
The only car on you is my Prius sparklin' blue
Empty highway, there's nothin' drivin'
Except me on you

Drivin' here for ages but I ain't find the end
I wonder if I'll find my exit lane
By now I should have seen the sign sayin' "Adelaide: 1 mile"
But all I see is nothin', this is lame

Empty highway, feels like I've been drivin' for days
Empty highway, starting to get crazed
It's like an endless loop and it's boring as, to boot
Empty highway, it's endless' drivin'
What is wrong with you?

Drivin' through the blankness of this ne'er-ending street
I wonder if the years are passing by
I guess I might be kinda fucked, but this occurs to me
I have not run out of gas yet, so confused

Empty highway, seems to be no end to you
Empty highway, blank like Keanu's face
I might be dreamin' you, since I'm wearing bunny shoes
Purgatory, an explanation
For what's wrong with you
I think that'd suck, don't you?

Empty highway, never seen such empty lanes
Empty highway, packed this time of day
I wish I had a clue to why there's nothin' on you
Empty highway, is this purgat'ry
Answer me, will you?
For this parody, "Keanu" has two syllabes, as in "Kya-nu". Got that?

I've found that writing parodies in the hospital can be a good thing...one can often get a good mind set...I like this...it's very imaginative and creative

Not too bad. Interesting switch of the topic keeping it about highway traveling and all that digital jazz, man.

Parody writing is more revealing about its author's state of mind than one would naturally assume. Get well soon, TCOP!

Agrimorfee's comment is probably the perfect one for this song/situation, so I'll just echo it...

Reminds me of the time I was driving home near midnight on a Sunday. Nice mood piece.

Not bad TCOP, I know you are going through a tough time right now, so I won't harp. . .this one was written in less than ideal circumstances and as such I won't bother pointing out things I'd normally point out. . .ditto Agri

(Artistry) It's alright, but given the circumstances it's pretty good. Feel better TCOP! :)

Just the same as I used scrotum in a Laura Brannigan parody...how the heck did you manage to jam Keanu's countenance in here? You get 5s for that by itself! Get well soon, bud!
