The Lyrics

One day left.
The legend lives on from the republicans down
To the big crowd stormed the rotunda
POTUS. it is said, has it stuck in his head
When the votes of November opposed him
With a load of law suits, more than sixty times more
than the ones that he had a chance of winning
He started to chide, he was fit to be tied
When the loss of November came surely

They strip his pride in this American plight
With a lack of support in Wisconsin
As his lawyers would boast, his votes were the most
With a claim of fraud beyond all reason
Including some claims from election machine firms
When installed fully loaded from Dominion
And during that night when the counting began
Could it be the blue wave they'd been feelin'?

The whining on twitter made a tattle-tale sound
And the lead in some states was failing
And everyone knew, and the president too
T'was the dems of November come stealin'
The mail ballot count came late to seal the fate
When the loss of November kept comin'
When the lawsuits came it was stingin' pain
In the face of faltering momentum

When Certification came, Trump came on the stage sayin'
Fight hard or you won't have a country
At two PM the crowd sent to the capital, he said
we’re going to walk I’ll be with you
The capitol chief called rioters comin' in
The house and the senate were in peril
And later that night when reinforcements arrived
Came the wreck of the MAGA supporters

Does any one know where the sanity goes
When the simple truth doesn't have power?
Searchers found pipe bombs at both party's quarters
And five people died in the encounter
They forced through the gates and they scaled the walls
They broke windows and smashed through the doors
When the curfew had come then the riot was done
The joint session resumed in its chambers

Facebook posts, Instagram shows
Breech of Pelosi's inner sanctum
Social media seems enforcement's dreams
Arrests are made across the nation
Qanon ploys and the boogaloo boys
Tried to put the blame on Antifa
But as the media goes the activists all know
With the rage of November defended

In the congressional chambers they met
To debate the POTUS involvement
Both sides had chimed, 'til they ran out of time
And passed the articles of impeachment
The legend lives on from the republicans down
To the big crowd stormed the rotunda
POTUS. it is said, has it stuck in his head
When the votes of November opposed him

The best tune for a long-form narrative. Quite well done. You covered all the main points. I'm still not sure on the death toll. I know of an Air Force veteran who was shot, and at least one police officer beaten to death. The mainstream media has not provided details on the others. At least one congressman gave the toll as six. Maybe you know. I hope AIR remains a forum for free speech. Most of the rest are fast disappearing.

I started writing this while it was happening. I stopped cold after I heard there were four people killed. The fifth was a capitol police officer. After everything played out, I felt I could revisit the project. It still took me most of the two weeks to write it. Like Gordon, I did use a little poetic license, Most all of what I wrote came from verifiable news sources. It looks like Duc4AmIRight needs to grow up. Cunthole? Really ?????

I've begun seeing comments posted by someone who is using other authors' names to spread foul language and sexual innuendos. Are you sure this is Duc4? Our site is under attack and I don't think it's from the Russians.

I have looked at Duc4's titles, They don't look as extreme as mine. Also someone posed as me on my other submission today. I replies by calling mysels @real William Little.

Outstanding! The original song is pretty complicated at best and I can see how you really put a lot of effort in writing this. Kudos and fives, dude!

It wouldn't be an official "Edmund Fitzgerald" parody if I didn't at least comment, and I loved this. And not just for the sentiment: It was well-written.
