"The Wreck Of the Formula Star (It's All Kirby's Fa"
The Lyrics
The legend lives on from old Cappy Town down
Of the race course they call Magma Flows
The track, it is said, never gives up its dead
When the winds o'er the lava lakes blow.
With a pink pilot on top - Kirby didn't want to stop
As the Formula Star Star did more than forty
That ship, we all feared, was a steak to be seared
When the rumblin' eruptions came early
The ship was the pride of the high-speed set's side
With its wins with Red Kirby three months' hence
As the fast racers go it was quicker than most
With a champ that had his experience.
Red handed it off with a slightly bored cough
When the flag had dropped that fateful evening
And thirteen laps in when the warning lights lit
It created some ominous feelings.
The wind on the hull made a tattletale sound
And magma burned off a jet cowling
And Kirby he knew, as Red Kirby did, too,
T'was the temperature bitch that come stealing.
The tail, it swung and the traction wouldn't come
Before Magma Flows' lava lake swells
Coming into turn six Kirby looked slightly sick
And the ship didn't handle too well.
With three-fourths the run gone Kirby couldn't hold on
Saying, "Red, I've lost the main thrusters!"
A bit more on his way, the tail wing gave way
He said, "Red, I went and I lost her."
Then Kirby wired in he had lava coming in
And he said he was close, yet was so far
And three minutes on, the racer was gone
'Twas the wreck of the blue Formula Star.
Does anyone know where the love of God goes
When the words turn the minutes to hours
The searchers all whine Kirby would've been fine
If he just would've laid off the power.
It might have split up or it probably melted
It may have submerged into Hades
And all that remains is Kirby's poor shame
'Cuz a Formula Star don't just cost pennies.
Sky Sands does sear, Machine Passage sings
In the ruins of her mechanized mansion
The Valley, it steams like a young man's dreams,
The Nebula Belt is for real men.
And farthest of far, old barren Rock Star
Takes in what Pop Star often sends her
And Air Ride machines go as King Dedede would know
With the Magma Flows lava remembered.
In an old hall in Ripple Star Kirby did owe
Quite a lofty-high princess' ransom
He owed two billion in Japanese Yen
And swore not to fly that one craft again.
The legend lives on from old Cappy Town down
Of the Race course they call "Burn You, Burn Me"
Mgama Flows, they say, never gives up her dead
When the white-hot eruptions come early.
