The Lyrics

I'm at badave.com and my recordings are at soundclick.com/badave
Lost on 7th in Virginia
Passing fountains Hobos smell like liver
Can't get out here, damn these one way streets
Construction dirt mountains causing a dust sheet

City Roads-- Ooh I moan
A disgrace-- can't get home
Lots of towers-- No more flowers
So I groan-- City roads

Taking cent'ries to get out here
Feeling hazy--Won't get out is my fear
Day is busted, people walk on by
What a waste- This downtown visit- makes me cry

City Roads can't get home
Stuck in place as I foam
City Center was a venture
Now I roam City Roads

I had no choice after eighteen hours I felt dizzy
The hotels are so pricey but I paid then I laid
Try again at dawn-- The streets I'm beatin'
I want to go home please today--please today

City Roads take a toll
On our race- that I know
The Carolinas, to Alaska
We all hate City Roads

City roads, traffic blows
dem highways-- head goes woah
So from Tampa to Tacoma
Let's avoid City Roads

Can't get home-- City Roads
So I'll sit--b*tch and moan

Yeah, I just slowly made my way across an expressway? yesterday that has been in a stste of repair for the last five years. I hate to think about what will happen when stimulus money is spent - another 10 years of repair?

So let's say on my way home from work today not only did I get stuck in traffic (at 9:30 at night, mind you) for a good 15 minutes, but I also had to pass through three spots on the road where they were doing construction, AND there was a car crash that I had to bypass as well!!! I can totally relate to that crap!

Growing up in Southern California, is there anything else but city roads? Good job on the opposite substitution.

Finally a song of yours that we all can relate to. Not like Ghosts cows or sprouting wings from drinking Red Bull. It's refreshing to see something like this from you Dave.

This wasn't a "bust out laughing" parody in terms of the individual lines, but the overall feel so much in tune with Denver's OS and the great ryhme subs throughout really impressed me.
