The Lyrics

No, this is not about Bush!
Well the boss is back
He's ready to blow
He calls us in, he shuts the door
He hates to break bad news, but it's a lie
But we're just not making
The bottom line
The market's shakey
It's a bad sign
And now the pressure's coming
And it's high

So kiss ass and bend your rear
Tell me what I want to hear
Look at all these numbers in a row
Cause I'm leading with a dead brain
I'm dishing out the flack again
Yes, men, to work you go!

There's so many times I've laid down rules
To see you treat me like a fool
The shoes must fit, I wear them like a king
Every man I lead, I try to screw
Every job not done, I blame on you
Now I am back, with paperwork and strings

So kiss ass and bend your rear
Tell me what I want to hear
Look at all these numbers in a row
Cause I'm leading with a dead brain
I'm dishing out the flack again
Yes, men, to work you go!

Now the time has come to ask you one more time
Let's step it up or say goodbye
So get to work, or you won't be paid
Dream about retirement
Someday when you are old and bent
Until that day, you will be my maid

So kiss ass and bend your rear
Tell me what I want to hear
Look at all these numbers in a row
Cause I'm leading with a dead brain
I'm dishing out the flack again
Yes, men, to work you go!

It's about Dilbert's Pointy-Haired boss, isn't it?

You know, Rick, it's really a pleasure to see (or read) a master at work (kiss, kiss). No, seriously - the verses in this are so FUNNY and so SPOT on...and it doesn't hurt that I can actually picture you singing this at the Espresso Gardens(even though you didn't do this number)...I learned something watching you the last couple weeks (actually, I learned a bunch of things, this is just one of them). It seems obvious and basic to me now, but you really have a wonderful touch for when to emphasize the humorous lines when you are performing. I wish I had done that more on the "Time in a Bottle" piece I did later that evening...it would have worked a lot better. But that's what performing does for me now...learning how to do it right. OH...yeah, 4-1-1...NO...that's a lie, straight FIVES, my man ~ ~ ~

Pretty good, but I had to dock you a point for using this title and NOT making it about Vacation Boy.
